Got the jitters.....

@Susan209 when I had my pre-op for my knees, and the nurse went through the fasting protocol, she said remember, drink clear liquid only until 6am on the day - and that does not mean gin :-).

Monday! How exciting! I’m sorry the pain is getting worse. Hang in there.

@Jacey at the speed I'm going at the moment it will definitely feel like racing down the corridors once I am up and about! But I promise to take it easy - it served me well during my recovery from BTKR. The surgeon reckons the hip will be a doddle in comparison. No pressure then....

@hikejunkie It's a bit odd it's not really that the pain is getting worse, it's more that the hip feels a lot more unstable, and there's a dull aching feeling - I have been in more pain before, but honestly I can't wait to have this over and done with.

Well...you're an old pro at this surgery stuff @Phoenixx29
Probably will be a "doodle" :rotfl: as your surgeon referred to it, after bi-lateral knee replacement.
It's great your pain is tolerable. I'll bet this weekend is all about prepping home for your recovery....
Wishing you peace and comfort as you await Monday :friends:

Nip over to NZ and you can be racing round the corridors 11 hours earlier :) :-) (: fingers crossed :fingersx: for a comfortable recovery

only just over 12 hours now before I have to get up and ready.....

i had a look at my previous recovery thread. Interestingly it seems I spent the most of the first week home asleep. I didn't really remember it that way. I was probably knocked out by the painkillers.

So there goes my plan on a Game of Thrones bingefest. I will probably have to postpone this for a week or I will miss the storyline!

i made a list of some short/medium term goals, to keep me entertained.

top of the list: Rest, rest, and rest some more. Take it easy with PT. I will need to build up some strength, but slowly does it. Check out the new shopping centre. This opened 3 months ago 3 miles down the road and I have not been able to go yet. It's been killing me! There's new shops and restaurants .....One major achievement would be to be able to get onto my static bike, that's probably 3 months down the line....

In the end it's going to take as long as it takes to heal. I certainly won't try to force any progress.

Not long now, fingers crossed .

Best of luck tomorrow - will be cheering you on from across the pond! And yes, I would think after having bilateral knees that this hip will be a walk in the park.

Prayers for tomorrow. You'll soon be in recovery and you've got that drill down.
I agree with @jaydub63 that after BIlateral TKR this may feel easy......based on all we hear / read.
Hopefully you get some sleep tonight.
Warm wishes for peace and comfort as you await tomorrow!
