Carol, I didn't want to blow up Chris' thread but I read where you wondered if I non tkr doctor would be experienced to help you. I would not give that a second thought. If anything I would feel they are way more experienced with the soft tissues, ligaments and tendons. The TKR docs are more about bone and hardware.
I meet so many people in my job who've had total knee replacements and 9 times out of 10, they tell me their knee is great. They never think about it. It's not swollen, never hurts, have great flexion and feels like a real knee. My heart would drop to my feet each and every time I heard this. I'd relay what was going on with me, swollen, can't bend, painful, TIGHT TIGHT clamp feeling, tight, full, never a waking moment that I do not think about my knee...they always replied, "something is wrong."
You know I was ignored by my first and second TKR doctor about scar tissue. I found my Dr. Lintner by talking to a customer in the store who had gone through the same symptoms as me. It was just a fluke that this woman and I met and it was such a life saver for me. After the revision, I knew I was growing scar tissue again, but since it's rare (supposedly) no one wants to listen. If your TKR started out reasonable, recovery, gradual ROM increase, no pain other than the pain of surgery healing and then it goes to new pain, loss of ROM, STRANGLING FEELING, you probably have scar tissue. No one wanted to believe me a second time, even my husband because, it was like..."no way, this can't happen twice!" But Dr. Lintner knowing the extent of my scar tissue listened to me a second time, finally my husband listened too and turns out my scar tissue was even worse this time than the first time and the first time it was horrible.
I think I just grow scar tissue from the huge TKR scar since it blankets like a sheet over my entire knee up into my quad. This time wrapping around the metal parts too, binding down my knee cap as well. I don't think I'd want to be 'opened up' for scar removal or to even have the spacer adjusted because I just think it would take off again. With arthroscopy you've got two holes and less chance of of a total scar take off again.
I hope you can find some answers, I know all too well what you are feeling. You have to listen to your own body and if you don't think it's right I have no doubt you are right. You can't let anyone say no you don't have this...because it's not like this or not like that etc., We know what we feel within our own body and know one else knows that but us.

You will be pleased to know, that having read your post on Lisa's thread where you appeared to rate your Skechers more important than your upcoming nuptials - I thought I had better buy a pair. Not that I need an excuse for another pair of shoes, but you are right they are certainly comfy. I will think of you each and every time I wear them. Are you wearing a suitably embellished pair of Skechers with your posh frock on Thursday I wonder??
Now as for that wedding ........ I am sending my congrats and good wishes today as I expect you will be busy and have your mind on other things tomorrow (actually the honest truth is I will probably forget if I don't do it immediately). May the sun shine and may you have the happiest of days with those you love around you. I will expect a photo posted on here soon. I probably will not get an alert for it - but hey, I'll keep looking.

Thank you for your congratulations for tomorrow it brought a tear to my eye. Because M and I have been together for more than 20 years, and because inheritance tax rather than cupid's arrow was the motivator, I haven't told anybody about our wedding - except you lot of course and the 2 witnesses. I wouldn't have involved the witnesses, but it turns out you can't borrow registry office staff and use them as stand ins. So you see why your congratulations are extra special.
Just when I think I have `put you all to rest' up you pop - the Metal Knee Gang. Don't you all know that you aren't supposed to still be around after all this time? Folk will talk you know. Not to mention how far off topic you are. Ladies, this is a knee forum not a drop-in site for the golden girls.
Working on the tradition of `something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, I think from Diana I should have a blue veggie joke; from Jaki an old bit of string; from Lisa its got to be new shoes with heels that shout `I'm up for it'. Sue and Chris (Pumpkln) how's about you loan me strength.
Chris (dogwheels) - of course you have to loan me that hot tub. I don't mind if you've been up to hanky panky in it - we're all friends after all. Anne, a nice new big box of kindness please - enough to see me through the next 20 years. And if by chance you are around Dorothy (@turtle68) oh! just get the drinks in - mine's a double champagne.

pss: my reference to `not being motivated by cupid's arrow' doesn't mean I didn't love M. I do - well most of the time. Sometimes he can be a pain in the xxx. Talking about backsides, did I tell you about the time last year when we were in a shop and he caught me looking at those J.Lo false bottoms (sort of padded knickers). Sniggering he said, well that's something you definitely don't need. Uncalled for cheek (forgive the pun).

Wedding joke?? Diana this is your highly acclaimed comquart joke which you unleashed on the world last year. Hope living without me doesn't mean you are losing your touch:rolleyes:. But enough. How are you? You still doing 2 jobs? How you coping with the summer weather - its not your time of year is it. How's your garden looking?
Do people still promise to honour and obey? I don't think I could stretch to that. Respect and Discuss sounds a whole lot more acceptable. Mind you since attending a Mindfulness course I am a reformed character. Do you know much about Mindfulness? In a nutshell its a technique which stops you from acting on autopilot. By being more aware it enables you to respond more appropriately in stressful/difficult situations. It works.
It occurred to me that its nice to catch up with everyone now and then, but it seems unfair to hijack BS which is for an entirely different purpose. I've never used Facebook, but it can't be difficult. Do you think its worth seeing if we (and others) could switch to catching up on Facebook?
As you are 5 hrs behind me you will be fast asleep in bed when I do my winking. So I will send you a special wink all for you at 4pm my time, 11am yours. If my sister gets her act together we might get some wedding photos - can't promise but will post if I can. Will do it on Facebook. Other stuff to tell you, but it will keep. xx

A few off topic posts are okay because this is a very special event in the life of one of our BoneSmarties. But please make use of private messaging (you can have up to five participants in a message stream) when you want to talk about things that are way, way off the topics of surgery and recovery.
You could also start a wedding thread in the Social Room for Carol. As long as the posts were related to the wedding (the thread topic) and not just general chat and joking around, you could post well wishes there.
