THR Celebrating one at a time, encore!

@EL11, and then I'm 4 days after you. On what I've just decided is Lucky Friday. This is going to be one fabulous September Sapphire recovery party.
We are all here in your room pulling for you @Alitm.

Yes, @An54 does have the decor gig down @1stSurgery
She's yet to produce that bubbly she's promised though.
We'll give the guest of honor a few more hours to appear so we can hopefully pop the cork!
It's even the weekend!:happydance: @Alitm was thinking ahead when she scheduled her surgery.
:martini:< Pretend it's champs.

She should be logging in soon now, so we may as well get started. :)

Agree! We have to make sure it tastes good  You get a bad bottle once in awhile :heehee:
That's okay, Alitm, take your time, we'll just carry on till you get here.

Hi my new hippy pal.
Hope you are skiing well worth pain managed...
:martini: party ? At first NOT.
But know we are cheering for you..:console2:

:dancy::fasthorse: Right hip DONE! Party in 318!
Awesome posts folks! Love the pictures And illustrations.
So frustrated as I couldn’t get on line earlier. Turns out I was still logged in at home.....although I didn’t feel stressed, I’ve been making silly mistakes. Ok, back to hips
Got up early enough to do my morning stretching and strengthening (core and upper body) routine and then had my second Scrub shower.
Off to hospital and checked in: gown on, conversation with anAesthesiologist. Final
decision general anaesthesia without spinal.
Woke up and it was all done.
Ugh I keep dozing off and deleting!! Going to try and post in chunks.

Yay! So happy to see you, I kept checking "Time in New Zealand" and looking for you to check in, seeing as it's already tomorrow afternoon... So happy you made it to your party and are doing well!!
Um....who drank all the bubbly??

Falling asleep so will finish tomorrow! All good and the latest dose of goodies have kicked in. I’m very “foggy” between remnants of anaesthesia and latest dose!!
Hugs to you all:roseshwr:
Foggy but relieved on VI

Glad you are on the other side and opening a bottle on your behalf in the UK. Hope it all goes well. People on here have been so helpful and I am very grateful to them. It stops me bending my husband’s ear!

Yay been wondering how you are @Alitm but kept nodding off while I looked for your thread  ......and not a drop has passed my lips! Hope you are feeling good, pain under control and the nurses are looking after you

Woohoo! All done and dusted, as our U.K. friends say.
Take your meds on schedule, sleep all you can and ice, ice, ice.
I hope you're resting comfortably.
Big hugs :friends:
@Alitm

Good morning from West Coast!
So being given Tylenol 1,000 milgrams x 4 daily. I get Naproxin Twice daily and Dilauted (sp) 2mg as needed. I am really comfortable while in bed, wiggling my toes and flapping my feet, but got up twice to pee, with choice of commode by bed, or commode chair to bathroom. Hadn’t seen physio yet yesterday afternoon as I was so drowsy from anaesthetic. The evening nurse wanted me to sit at edge of bed but the urge to pee came first! I chose to sit on side of bed, stand up to walker, do a couple OS steps to commode chair and be wheeled to bathroom, “like the Queen” my roommate and fellow RTHR gal said. Nothing regal about having one’s backside hanging out IMO but was glad to move a bit.
I really needed the narcotic meds to go for a wee the first time and had 4 mgs the first time and two mags the second time. It was very painful getting up off the bed. Nurse was telling me yo breath through it. She soon realized that I need the narcotics to move around.
I have had IV antibiotics yesterday and today
Had a cocktail of drugs by mouth before going into the OR..,.as I remember Oxy and Celebrex.
I have the inflatable cuffs on my legs for circulation and will have baby aspirin to go home with.
Having problems keeping my oxygen levels up, apparently due to anaesthetic. I was fine by yesterday evening but by early this AM my O2 levels were down again, so bank on sale canilars again. Drinking lots of water, so that helps. No nausea though, so that is great.
Hopefully will get pain meds for walking with walker sorted out, so I can do the walk-in and stairs.
I am icing!!
Waterproof bandage so can shower once I’m ready to do that. Staples holding things together.
The OA pain is gone and it feels like my hip when I’m just laying here. Knee pain appears to have gone too.
I have a regular pillow between my legs, so I can sleep on my un operated side of I want. Didn’t feel comfortable doing that. Managed to sleep four hours until next round of regular meds and Dilauted and trip to loo. Then snother eight hours sleep. More sleep than I’ve had in years!
Today will be physio day!
How are you doing @anny ? Will get over to your thread today.
@1stSurgery Thinking of you!
 And hugs to all
:loveshwr:

Glad to hear you're doing well.
I bet they'll have you up and moving more today.
You're on your way! So happy for you to have the surgery behind you.
Hope you have a good day. :friends:
