THR Back pain

Hi @pepperpots, I'm late chipping in but yep the tiredness is totally normal and will ease over the next week or two. Your body is telling you to take it easy. Take advantage of being able to listen to it whilst you can!

The mess I'm not sure but the important thing is to be sure any pain you have is managed and not hindering your recovery.

Best of luck with it. Although by now my response is probably too late!

RTHR May 27th 2014

Hi, am grateful for any advice or help please. I am n the Uk and had a TRHR in September 2014. While I have ongoing back problems I had no pain in the new hip which was fantastic. Last week I developed a mild ache at the top of my thigh towards the groinwhich has worsened as the week has progressed. Yesterday and today it is really painful and seems to be on my front thigh and in my groin making it really painful to walk so that my walk is starting to resemble what it was like pre op. It''s at it worst when I start walking after arising from a chair or when I start walking again after standing still for a couple of minutes. I am desperate as things were good and I could do so much more than I used to do but now it feels like I am back at square one again. Thanks for reading.

@pepperpots , So sorry to hear this! Have you done anything new recently - new activity, lifting something heavier than normal, twisted or turned in a different way. Are you doing any PT or exercises? What were you doing the day that groin pain started?

My RTHR was 2 weeks after yours and I find if I lift something fairly heavy I feel it (I too have spinal problems).

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware of doing anything different at all. I work with young children and sometimes have to sit on low chairs but tat hasn''t been a problem up to now. I'm becoming concerned that it has become so painful in the space of a week and am having a panic in case there is a major problem with the new hip.

Let's tag @Josephine for her input. She will take you through some questions about your activity level and help you identify the exact location of your pain.

I always say if the pain is getting worse maybe a visit to the doctor is needed. My pain increased with one of my knees and I found out that I was heading for trouble and by going to the doctor I headed off the trouble. Just a idea. Good luck. Tashia

@pepperpots I have merged your other member mattyb into your pepperpots account so all her posts are now yours! And I found you had three recovery threads so they have been merged also.

This is now your recovery thread, okay?
