TKR Am I normal?

Thank you.....it is so good to know that is not just me!!! I know I'm supposed to be patient...,but its hard. But knowing that other people feel the same as me is comforting....I love to do puzzles too!! Again thank you and everyone

I started to get my energy back at three months. Try to embrace your energy drain, if you can, and realize your body is working extra hard to heal you. While you stay out of its way, you can still be a happy zombie. I too love jigsaw puzzles and did probably hundreds of them on my iPad. Also started watching a few westerns on TV. Gunsmoke in particular had some mighty fine writing and acting.

You’ll be happy to get your energy back, but remember it cannot be wished back. Just has to show up when it’s good and ready.

@Nannie6912 you will notice that I have merged your three recovery threads together as we prefer that members in recovery only have one thread.

This is for three reasons:
1. if you keep starting new threads, you miss the posts others have left you in the old threads
2. it often ends up that information is unnecessarily repeated
3. it's best if we can keep all your recovery story in one place so it's easily accessed if we need to advise you.

Please keep all your questions and updates on this thread. If you would like a new thread title just give a shout.

I am 5 weeks out now and, like you, I am anxious to get started with my new active life, but my body is using all my energy to heal, so I am fatigued and not very ambitious. This is my second TKR so I knew what to expect this time! I have been more able to relax, ice and elevate while fantasizing about a strong, healthy, active life down the road!!!!!
