Do you work every day or can you schedule one day in the middle of the week as a "rest" day--or a day with only one client?
Glad to hear you are resting icing and elevating today.
Energy takes a long time to come back--think post 12 weeks. I was back at work at 12 weeks and was wiped out at the end of the day. Nothing but rest and a simple dinner when I got home.

Your body needs rest after this. I know you need to work, but try to be creative in thinking of ways to give yourself and your knee breaks.

@janetg
My hairdresser sits on a high stool to give her legs a rest while she cuts my hair. Could you try something like that, so that you don't have to stand for so long?

Hello all, Hate to ask this question but wondering about my 'mood'. Im a pretty happy person I would say. I do take 20mg of Celexa daily for minor depression. However, I can't seem to move out of this 'blue' area. Im not a crier, and haven't really, but find myself on the brink a lot! I'm hoping as I begin to feel better it will lift. Been off narcotics for over a week and still have minor nausea every day also. No interest in TV or reading. Its really weird. Any comments will be appreciated.

All normal, you are still very early in recovery, at the three month mark you will start to see this easing.

I cried off and on for a few weeks, totally normal. There's an article somewhere here about the blues.

Thanks Karri, was really thinking something was very weird with me. I'll try and find the

My TKR changed my life totally for longer than 12 weeks. I had never been a patient, never missed more than 4 days of work at a time, never had to be so dependent on anyone. All of that impacts emotions, throw in being totally house bound during the Polar Vortex and it was the perfect storm.

@janetg , haven't heard from you in while, surgery sister! How are you doing?

About the blues ... before my operation, my OS told me that there would be meltdowns and down periods; he even tried to predict exactly when they would occur! (he was wrong). But, from that comment of his trying to warn me, I think you're having a normal experience and I hope it will go away (as my OS said it would).

So, it's been a couple weeks ... how are you feeling now, @janetg?

hi, hard to believe its been 4mo! just wondering if anyone has experienced this. the last few days i have this sharp almost stabbing pain right in the spot where all my knee pain was in the first place. comes and goes doesn't affect my walking at all. no swelling or warmth. i was wondering if its one of those nerves coming alive again. I'm going to keep an eye on it but wondered if this sounds normal. thanks

Have you done anything new lately that might have aggravated your knee? Lifting, longer walking or standing. Does icing ease this?

You may notice I moved this post into your recovery thread. We like to keep all your post op information on one thread so that we can better advise you.
