Definitely contact your surgeon. A change from no pain to hotness and pain is concerning. Please get them to see you as soon as possible!:console2:

Watch for any signs of leaking around the scar until they can get you in. Are you experiencing headaches, fatigue, fever?

@busymum

Hi @RestAssured I've felt rundown with a sore throat and feeling flu like for about 4 days this week but that seems to have cleared up now, am always tired running round after 4 children haha.
My scar is all healed (looked like just a red pen line) but is looking slightly more stretched due to the swelling. Feel like being such a drama queen but just so disappointed that there's been no pain whatsoever and now it's so tender even uncomfortable even with the lightest of touches.
I'll definitely give them a ring on Monday - thank you so much to all who have replied x (@Me2 @Josephine @pumpkin

When healing there is no such thing as a drama queen! Better to be safe than find out it really is something!:console2:

We care about you and please let us know what they find out!

Do hope you get an answer ASAP regarding the onset of symptoms @busymum....thinking of you...do keep us updated! X

[Bonesmart.org] Advice please re: nerve damage/detached muscles
@busymum, You may notice that I have merged your two threads. We like to keep our members' recovery posts all in a single thread. That way it's easy for us to go back and read your history before responding to a question or concern. In addition, the thread becomes a journal of your recovery for those who come along later and want to read about you. So, please post in this thread from now on when you want to give an update or ask a question. If you need immediate response to a question or concern, then tag an admin, moderator, or other member.

If you decide you'd like a different thread title at any point, you can change it using the Thread Tools button at the top right of the page or just post what you want here and we'll get it changed for you. THANKS!

If you are having a problem locating your thread, here is a link with how to do it: How can I find my threads and posts?

Hi everyone - seems a long time since been on here - hope everyone doing well.
I had a total right hip replacement in May, made a seemingly perfect recovery in super quick time but after the 6 week mark started with a new pain. This has got worse - and cannot lift my right leg now more than approx 8-10cm off the floor without excruciating pain - can walk as long as feet very close to floor but stairs, getting into bed and driving are all very painful affairs.
I was referred to Physio but after 3 months and not even the slightest improvement she has referred me back to consultant - she seems to think only things it can be are either a damaged nerve (which repairs itself - upto a year it can take) or a detached muscle which will require surgery - am just slightly panicking and just wondering if anyone had any advice or had had these issues?
Thanks xx

I'm going to tag @Josephine for you.

I'm disappointed that your doctor chose the physical therapy route instead of getting you back to your surgeon. Please be assertive so that you can get to see him as soon as possible. You need to get to the bottom of this.

I have merged your latest thread in with your old recovery thread. Please don't start new threads when you have questions or concerns. We really need to be able to go back and read your entire history in order to be able to properly help you. This is the thread where you should post regarding your recovery. If at any time you want a different thread title, just let us know what you want and we'll get it changed. Or you can use the Thread Tools link and change it yourself.

Well, you are in a state, poor thing!

Can you tell me the exact site of your pain using this chart?
Please note the instructions in the smaller image
