THR Advice on pain

NoraJ. Sorry to hear you had a bad relationship before op, this is always difficult, but must have added to the pressure of the after effects of the op. Hopefully you are in a much better place now with yourself and will soon be walking better.
I was told I may have leg length differences, but they seem ok, so I am lucky with that. It sound like you may have to have the other hip done at one point, same as me, but I think probably best wait until your feeling fully recovered from this first. But also don't wait until it's too bad that your suffering with all that bone pain again. That is what I'm thinking for me. Just hope this one goes well, I have not really done much as yet, wanting to heal more first, the concentrate on my gait, etc.
sounds like good advice what you have said, think I will take it easy for a few more days yet. Thanks :)

I had THR on 15 September 2014. Had to have a bone graft due to protrusion into the pelvic bone. Also found out I have "soft bones" and therefore have small fractures on my femur due to operation.

@Newhipneeded..do take it easy and follow the advise. You won't do any damage that way. I was a bit unlucky with the LLD. I knew it was a possibility and with a bit of luck it will be sorted when I get my left hip done. I know there is a fine line about timing the second op. It sounds like we're in the same boat on that one. I don't want to rush it nor will I be a martyr to the pain.

No doubt you'll be fine with rest and time!

@Newhipneeded slow and steady - still early days for you. And please don't worry about that second hip. Focus on this recovery. From my experience you will definitely know when it's time for #2.

Thanks for all the support, I have done a few laps around my garden today ( not a big garden) but also taking it slow and resting lots. I'm not going to rush things, I've waited to get my hip done for awhile and don't want to rush and mess it up now !
Wishing you all well and good luck with your recovery. It's been a great help knowing we are not alone! Xx
