Hi
@SBMadden, You're not alone. I also know the absolute frustration of overdoing things and paying the price! Like you, my last little 'episode' resulted in feeling more pain than I did post-op! X rays required etc, as I really was silly. And then we have the set back of having to rest up for weeks.
All you need is to rest and repair, and be very, very patient and mindful of your actions. I'm sure you'll be back at work when it's time, hang in there.
My own personal mantra is:
Every job undone is another wonderful opportunity for healing. Particularly as you need to take care of not just a new implant, but a wobbly old painful hip (same predicament as me).
As for supplements, nothing I have tried makes one jot of difference. All the bottles, tubes, essences and oils sit here, testament to my own desperation and my empty pocket - a sad willingness to fork out at any expense to get some relief. What I needed was a new hip and nothing in a jar can ameliorate that. Sorry if that sounds negative! But if even prescribed strong Pharmacy drugs aren't effective on the pain and inflammation of OA, what hope do powdered-down versions of herbs have? From not taking any drugs my whole life, living healthily, being fit, vegetarian etc and being an advocate for alternative remedies my OA has made me a complete convert to pharmaceuticals and surgery! We do what we have to do to get by.
Take care of that hip, and yourself.
