It is over three years since I had my left TKR. Since discharge from hospital I have had pain (and latterly swelling) on the inside of my knee just below the kneecap. My own consultant had no idea what caused it and I have just seen another consultant today who said it ‘couldn’t possibly be connected to the TKR operation’.
I can’t stand or walk for more than 10 minutes without a vice-like pain in the area. It has impacted a much of my life and I am now at my wits end.
Been referred for pain management but cannot understand how something which came on immediately post-op cannot be related to the operation itself.
Any thoughts/advice?

Welcome back to BoneSmart, sorry to hear you have continuing problems in the same area you noted in 2019 for Josephine (she is now retired from BoneSmart).
I agree with her suggestion that you have Pes Anserine and MPFL pain .
Has the location changed? If so post the new location using the chart in post #20.
If the pain clinic does injections they may be able to help you with this knee pain.
I have pain on and off in the same area, most recently my surgeon injected that area with a cortisone shot giving me relief from that pain. Relief has lasted for 3 months and I am hoping for even longer.
You will notice I have merged you newest thread with your old thread about your left knee. Since todays problem is a continuation of your problems in 2019 with your left knee. Merging will help staff advise you, and give you a diary of your left knee surgery and recovery.
Thanks for understanding,
Chris
