TKR 3 Months TKR, new PT

I’m glad you’re not going back to them! As you are seeking a new one make sure they are on the same page as you before you make any appointments.

You and are are very close to surgery dates. Mine was January 10 and I can relate to all that you are experiencing. My leg swells and is stiff all the time. Still going to PT and I am wondering how long is this going to take before I fell better about this surgery.

The first three months are the hardest. Things should start to improve after that.

I feel like they pushed me to far, and I stood up and said no, but they would keep pushing.
When you said that and they kept on pushing, they assaulted you. If that happens again, tell them you are going call the police and have them arrested! I bet they'll back off them!

I walked out in the middle of PT appointment at the first outpatient PT place I went to. I was in no mood to argue with them, I didn't feel comfortable there and I didn't like the way they operated. So I got my stuff and left. It was scary and empowering at the same time. I found a different PT outfit that I liked much better. As I've read on bonesmart so often, we are the customers, we are the PAYING customers, and the PT's work for us! Go us!!!! Knee power!!!!:heehee:

You’re getting some great advice! Taking charge of your recovery —not just PT but the daily ins and outs— is the best way to ensure your recovery suits your situation: your physical surroundings, your energy level, your pain level, your needs. It really is all about you!

Thanks to everyone for the support. It is hard to know what to do when you have never done this before. It is all so alien, the pain, the stiffness all the rules.

It truly is. Sometimes I have felt lost. This site is a blessing. Try to keep a positive attitude. It does get better.

I have an appointment with my Doctors PT group on Tuesday, I will keep you posted.

I left my PT after 3 visits, was tired of being bullied by the therapist trying to make me do things that hurt. My new therapists are great, they listen to me and let me decide how much I want to do, I find I do more when I am in control. If you are not happy with your PT, GET OUT. I am doing so much better. I still have swelling and discomfort especially after walking a ways. Lots of elevation and ice.

You'll notice that I have again merged your newest thread with your original recovery thread. Please stop creating new threads every time want to post an update. For several reasons, we prefer that you only have one recovery thread:
  • That way, we have all your information in one place. This makes it easier to go back and review your history before providing advice.
  • If you keep starting new threads, you miss the posts and advice others have left for you in the old threads, and some information may be unnecessarily repeated
  • Having only one thread will act as a diary of your progress that you can look back on.
So please post any updates, questions or concerns about your recovery here. If you prefer a different thread title, just post what you want and we'll get it changed for you.
If you need an urgent response to a question, just tag a member of staff.
How to tag another member; how to answer when someone tags you

Here are the instructions on finding your thread, How can I find my threads and posts? . Many members bookmark their thread, so they can find it when they log on.

@pigylow here is an article that explains how to find your recovery thread on Bonesmart.
https://bonesmart.org/forum/threads/how-can-i-find-my-threads-and-posts.14732/
Would you please read it and learn how to do that? Then you will be able to post your updates in your own thread, rather than creating a new thread every time you visit the forum. It is important that you do this so that we will be able to give you better advice and you will be able to see feedback that people have given you. It is much more difficult to do that if you keep creating new threads all the time.

Hi, @pigylow , it was nice to hear from you today!

Well, I was doing really well with my first puppy sitting in months. My new knee is doing really well and I feel strong. But, I stubbed my toe on my other foot and fractured my metatarsal and I am wearing a "boot". Makes me walk funny, even trying to balance my legs. I am so afraid I am going to mess up my good leg walking weird. I will be wearing shoes from now on...

@pigylow How is your foot doing today? When did you fracture it?
