Hello to all May Marvels……I was on the April Rainbow list. I got a RTHR on April 29th. I am home and doing great.

I wanted to come back to this side to wish you all the best of luck, try not to worry too much. Keep busy the days before and to the best of your ability, surround yourself with positive people………in person and on this forum. You will do great….any questions just ask.

Before my op I wrote a list of all the things I was thankful for and a list of things I was looking forward to doing….when I got upset I either looked at my lists….or got onto this forum….mostly I did both.

The future is bright…..

May 15. R THR scheduled for 3 months post L THR. I appreciate the Bonesmart forum very much. The observations and experiences shared by members and moderators help me feel more comfortable and confident in the process of preparation, surgery and recovery.

Hi, everyone! I am new here, though I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. My surgery is scheduled for May 20th - first one, left hip, posterior approach (which I realize is more invasive). I am excited to get this finally taken care of, but, frankly, I'm quite anxious! I live alone (with 2 cats) so that adds to the nervousness. I think my brother will stay a couple of days and another friend also volunteered to stay 2 days - will that be enough?? I think Home Health will come out daily, too. I've been reading everyone's experiences and it's been encouraging! I hope to be a May Marvel, too! Audra

May 19, early morning, LTHR. Plan for a outpatient day surgery. Look forward to have it done. Doing leg muscle exercises and balance exercises every to prepare. Also riding stationary bike 60 min daily to maintain cardio-function (since I could not do walking exercise for 4 months). Stop taking all vitamin supplement as of today per doc's order (really necessary?). Practice deep breathing and meditation as much as possible to prepare for coping with pain. Eating double veges and fruits, and increasing protein intake to prepare for blood loss. Any other good idea for preparation? I love this forum because it is so positive and warm!
