Operated hip is doing great - 'healthy' hip continues to trouble

Thank you for the reply Josephine, unfortunately only one surgeon mentioned "some kind of a healing fracture", he did not specify any further, others have not made as much of a fuss about it so i'm not too sure what is going on. It's a pretty complicated thing, i do try and not overdo it but if...

Operated hip is doing great - 'healthy' hip continues to trouble

Hey all, It's been a while since my last post so i thought i'd check in. The good news is that my operated hip feels wonderful almost a year on (12 more days until my 1 year anniversary). I've been able to do everything normally with it, train, work, study, cycle and move around, absolutely...

    THR Update :)

Thanks @Vetgirl ! :) We all recover at different rates, but i am so grateful to have had a wonderful surgeon who really did a great job. At the moment if it wasn't for my operated hip i don't know how i'd be getting around! Did you have pain in your hip joint as a result of your sacroilliac...

    THR Update :)

Hi Josephine :) I guess I just thought it was a bit invasive to begin with.. Generally I'm reluctant to go straight to injections or anything like that. I'm not sure, i'm trying to stretch my lower back and strengthen my core at the moment, but I'm struggling.. I'm seeing another specialist at...

THR 21 year old 5 weeks post op :)

Thanks for the replies, i have mostly been doing isometric strength training, stretching and hydro.. I have been stretching out my adductors quite a bit and the pain is mostly sharp and stabbing in ER3F every time i actively try to flex my hip or walk.. I can also feel it in my glute CR5B and...

THR 21 year old 5 weeks post op :)

My OS has basically said time will have to tell, after about 6 months everyone will be able to make a proper assessment.. I just hope i don't have to live off pain meds for the foreseeable future, that thought is a bit depressing especially because my operated hip feels so good..

THR WOOHOO I'm On The other Side

Such great news PDH63, i totally agree with you on the pre op training and preparation. It's also so important to have a good PT, i feel the same way about my PT, he is fit and pushes me without overdoing it. I'm nearly 3 weeks post op and haven't taken any pain meds for my operated hip since i...
