ebair23...I know exactly how you feel! I had my hip replacement on 4/20/18 and for the first month I felt great! Then the pain started creeping back. First the pain in the bursa area, then the groin pain and then finally down into my knee.
Of course I would tell my surgeon at every follow up...
So glad to hear things are a little better!
You know we are all on here because we made the decision due to precious pain to have our hip REPLACED! It’s not easy! I’m 2 months out and have my good and bad days.
My suggestion would be to try to get some vitamin d, either pill form or...
:thankyou: @Mojo333 I need this recovery to get back on track! I wish I could say this is due to overdoing it, but I’m thinking it’s either due to my muscles saying “leave us alone, you haven’t used us in TWO years” or god forbid somethings wrong. So I’ll give PT a try and hopefully next week...
Well I went to the Dr. yesterday. 7 was weeks post-op. Told him (in tears) about the sharp pain in my groin and how now I couldn’t even lift or slide my leg without a horrible sharp pain. He did X-rays and says the hip looks great. He told me it was my psoas muscle, which from what I have read...
Thank you @Mojo333!
I sure am looking forward to a day when I am pain free, no stiffness, no soreness, nothing that sends pain to my brain. Patience surely is a virtue I need to work on!
So today I HAD to go to the VA hospital for my work and it entailed a LOT of walking and sitting on my incision (due to being able to work from home, I’m able to lay in bed and work, so sitting in a hard chair is rare). Needless to say I am very sore tonight. Please tell me after 7 weeks now...
Welcome! I had my posterior TLHR April 20th. I still have pain in my groin. Not horrible there, more so along my incision and side of my hip. I think we all tend to overdue it, which was why I was so happy to find this forum. Made me realize just what a major surgery this was. So I would...
Nope, no exercises. Cut back on activity too. Increased Tylenol.
ITB looks like the cause! I have pain in my thigh and a little in my knee, not bad though!
Should I do some of those stretches or is it still too early? Same with a massage, too early?
@Josephine I’m editing my pain area on the side of my hip. Do you think this is still bursitis? I have an appt tomorrow, so I’ll ask him too.
L1BX is where I feel the pain is most tender. And it’s seems to me at the end of my incision.
Also, I see a lot of comments on glute pain. Is that a...
That’s what Jaycey alluded to as well. And I’m thinking it is too due to the tenderness and sharp pain. I have another appt with OS on Wednesday, I’ll talk to him about it. But I’m the mean time this girl is scaling back her activities.
Thank you!
Thank you SO much @Josephine !! I had no idea about being able to take more Tylenol. On it right now!
I’m seeing a pattern where at the end of the day the side of my hip gets that sharp pain. To the point I can’t get comfortable. Any ideas for comfortable positions for posterior incisions...
