I have an apt late next month. Pretty sure it’s hip flexors at this point. I hadn’t been going to go in early figuring they can’t do anything to address it till after 3 months? Do they do cortisone injections earlier than that?
Ow! I have had that psoas thing done before. It HURT!
I just did some illegal stretching and it knocked the pain down,,,so maybe it’s that the muscles are still like cement. Will mention to the PT next week.
PT starting to think I have some impingement. Or, at least psoas issues. Getting the adductors straightened out and the pain in the groin is moving more towards the center.
@KathyD did you have a shot?
Has anybody had a scar pull while walking?
After I’ve walked a little while, and especially downhill, the area just yo the outside of my scar PULLS! It feels really bizarre and kinda hurts.
At 2 months out I thought things would be loosening up.
I had FAI surgery in April 2009, and was bone on bone by Sept 2009.
Xrays and CT showed “mild arthritis”...surgeon said when he got in there it was “pretty beat up”. They did the whole cam/pincer thing and tried to reconstruct the labrum.
Recovery from the replacement was WAY easier than the...
So I had Gua Sha (similar to ASTYM, IASTM, Graston, etc) done on my adductors by the PT yesterday because after 10 years of not working properly the fascia and tendons are a gnarly mess and are interfering w my ability to walk.
He worked groin to knees.
My initial impression was...
I had to use a hinged brace on the knee for awhile to even walk. Earlier than where you are, though. Doc thought it was referred pain, PT brought up a good point, though.
He said the swelling in the thigh takes a looonnnggg time to go away and in the meantime gravity puts some of that fluid...
Oh...I have that. The adductors are tight and shortened. It actually turns my foot in when I’m tired.
Mine got to where there was a smallish muscle bundle that was tightened down to the size of my thumb that hurt like all getout if I stepped wrong.
The PT is doing deep tissue massage on it...
I started w bent leg fallouts. You lie on your back w both legs bent, tighten your core, and in a VERY controlled manner, allow one knee to fall a little out to the side and bring it back in.
It works those inner thigh muscles, but also works the sides of the glutes that control abduction. You...
I couldn’t sleep on my side till my swelling had diminished. I didn’t worry too much about my feet, but had to use 2 pillows between the knees to keep from hurting. Sometimes being on my side would make my knee hurt. :what:
Now I can sleep on the non op side w no issues (and have been so I can...
6 week check in. I FINALLY found some shoes that make it easier to walk instead of harder! They have a mild rocker sole w some squish, so I can do the heel/toe thing w/o getting jolted. Wish they weren’t quite so high, but at this point I will take what I can get!
These in case anybody else...
