I am two months out from surgery and feel great as long as I don't overdo it. I walked a fast mile yesterday with my daughter and now have pain mostly in my quad area and groin. I am wondering if others experience recurring pain in this area
with exercise.
So so sorry @Linda1 to hear about your difficulties and hope you have relief soon. I apologize if you mentioned this in another thread, but does your OS know the source/cause of the infection?
I've had in home PT for 4 weeks per my OS orders. I did find it helpful overall. The PT was very gentle. I don't know that I would have gone out for PT due to Covid and that all the PT places near me are large practices with crowded rooms.
My OS suggested I use a recumbent stationary bike for rehab. Since I won't be able to go to the gym for awhile I am thinking of purchasing one. Does anyone have a bike they love?
I am feeling much better today. I am off the oxy and hope to use it sparingly if at all moving forward. My pain is minimal and mostly around my incision.
Although I had anterior surgery, I was givent posterior hip precautions for 3 weeks due to a damaged gluteus medius. Today is my last day of...
I agree @Jaycey. The PT was in a chatty mood and probably needed a better filter. I feel much better after a day of rest and think that it was a soft tissue problem.
This is so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to share this. I am feeling better today--much less pain without the oxy. I was told to "stay ahead of the pain" and I think this made me take more oxy than I actually needed and caused my extreme nausea. I'm thinking instead I'll use it as...
Thank you that's very good advice. I think I had little food and lots of liquid when I became sick. I do have Zofran and took it after I felt ill. It didn't seem to do much. Perhaps I should take it beforehand and see if that prevents nausea.
All the best @PinkPeony! I am a little over two weeks out from surgery and found the entire experience much easier than I expected if that is any comfort. I have never had surgery before, so I was quite worried. The worst was recovering from the anesthesia and dealing with pain meds.
Thank you! I have gone back to my original schedule for pain meds and the pain has improved quite a bit, although I feel quite nauseous and a bit out of it from the pain meds. I am taking tylenol, diclofenac, and 5 mg oxy every 6 hours which completely controls the pain but makes me feel awful...
Thank you! Surgery was on June 10th. My OS requires PT so not sure I can step away completely but will ice and take it easy. Also, I don't have PT again until Tuesday and will cancel if I still have pain. I appreciate your advice.
I had right anterior hip replacement a little over two weeks ago. I am on crutches for a month due to a weakened gluteus medius. After my surgery, Dr told my husband that my hip was worse than he expected and that he had to remove bone spurs. I won't see my Dr. for post surgery visit until mid...
