Back issues prior to TKR surgery?

Thanks everyone... Yes I did see a spinal surgeon who looked at my MRI and basically said its not that severe, just to have the TKR, and that my back is going to hurt regardless after surgery. (He wasn't very informative) ;) I have been in PT for my back and it's helped but not 100% better...

I've been in physical therapy the past 5 weeks and cannot get past 88 degrees, so it is what it is at this point! :). Being in therapy also flares my sciatica up some so I got a cortisone injection in spine Friday, which made it worse :/. Usually they help right away. Hoping the nerve calms...

Anyone else in their 40's having knee replacement?

Welcome! Yes, I was diagnosed with OA of both knees at the age of 46, I had meniscus tear, then surgery and a few years later the arthritis kicked in on both knees... I was not rough on my joints but thinking genetics may play a role...don't know? But I'm now 50 and can't walk more than half...

Gigi32 that is pretty good! I've been in PT a few weeks and I feel better afterwards, except for my sciatica keeps flaring up (another issue I have to deal with) so I'm getting a cortisone shot before surgery to help the inflammation in my herniated disc. I think the sciatica is def. affecting...
