I find that I have to organize my day to make sure I don't overdo it. I am still working up to cleaning the house. I do a little bit every day rather than a lot in one day. I can sleep on my side (non operated) with a pillow between my legs, but not the whole night. I find I have to rotate...
Thank you all for you responses. I have spoken with my surgeon and she actually showed me the x-ray and how she measured it. It looked like to me she did it properly. I will give it more time and keep up with my exercises. Biked for 10 minutes on a stationary bike yesterday. Woohoo!!
I have had a very busy spring. Two trips across the country and back for my daughter's senior day (she played college softball) and for her graduation. All in all it went well.
I'm getting around now without my cane. I still go upstairs one foot at a time though. I'm sure it will get...
Tomorrow will be four weeks since my operation. I have been very pleased with my progress. I use my cane for the majority of the time, but sometimes I just leave it behind and walk across the kitchen to get something.
I have a concern however, and I know this has been brought up by others...
Thank you Josephine.
When I said my pain was a 3 at the time I was resting comfortably and writing to you. So at that very time I was not in a lot of pain. When I transition from sitting to standing with my walker it has been very painful, I would say a 7-8, so much so that I wonder "do I...
Hi Josephine,
Here you go:
1. Posterior
2. Pain level right now 3
3. Percocet 5-325mg. I take it every four hours. I set my alarm at night to take it because the first night I did not. I went 6 hours and my pain was intense so I took two tablets. Since then just one tablet every four...
Yes Josephine. You can ask me the questions. I have not been on the computer for a few days. I should be on it more tomorrow. I also have a mild fever 100.9 is the highest. I was told to call the MD if it gets up to 101.5
Yesterday was the big day. Surgery was at 7:30am and I was home at 2:30pm. It's amazing and a big relief. The surgeon told my husband and me that my hip was the worst one she has seen. Soft tissue was attempting to grow where the cartilage had been. We both wonder why it wasn't done sooner...
Thank you! I'm ready to go. 7:30am surgery tomorrow. My husband is not going on the trip after all so that is a big relief. Just ready to get this done!!
I've given this a lot of thought. I think I would want someone with me, especially at night. I'm going to contact a home health agency and also mention it to a close friend. I'll bring up to him the options. Depending on how I feel, I may reschedule (he doesn't want me to though). The...
I have a question. My husband would like to take an international trip for work four days after my surgery. He doesn't have to go, but he would like to. I am wondering how capable I would be of taking care of myself. Would I need a caregiver for a few days? If I have frozen meals and, if my...
Thank you. I have had two pretty good days now. I have been setting up the downstairs bathroom gradually to accommodate what I need. I can see where I am in a fortunate position as the shower is a walk-in shower with a shower curtain. Other tricks I have been doing is using a cloth shopping...
Thank you. I will take your suggestions. I just started using a cane a few days after Christmas and it was only occasionally. Now it's all the time except when I'm in the kitchen and I can just hobble from one counter to the other. I will baby myself. For months I had a sudden grabbing pain...
