Another question:
Is it common for your recovered knees to hurt again when the weather goes from summer to winter? My TRKR was 1/26/23, though with a complication (avulsion fracture of patella that healed with a brace for two months). My LTKR was 9/22/23 with a normal healing process.
Every...
Thank you! My left knee is completely different than the right (thank goodness!). I’m now four weeks out and was able to give up the walker two weeks ago. I still use a cane for longer distances but am starting to give that up for shorter distances too. Pain is usually minimal except after PT...
I had a very difficult complication on my right knee earlier this year so am hoping and praying this one (on 9/22/23) on the left goes better! So far so good, but today is day 2 and the nerve block wore off. I can’t do the usual opioids (nausea) so am making do with Extra Strength Tylenol and...
I’m now six months post-RTKR with an avulsion fracture of the patella two weeks after surgery that had me in a brace for two month. I got out of the brace in mid April, so my rehab really started about 3 months ago.
I am now walking without any kind of assistive device and pretty much doing...
I can’t believe the typos! I didn’t type it like that. Let me try again!
I loved my Border Terrier very much. He died at age 14 in 2022. His name was Oliver.
Found some updates on your knees. Hope Ruby is good company. Thinking of and praying for you. There IS hope!!! I’m walking again and...
Hang in there!! It’s SO hard, esp when you see others who had the same surgery up and about in a few weeks. Just yesterday a friend who had her right knee done ten days ago drove herself to church and was barely limping!
I’ve found just trying to use the knee in everyday situations helps the...
(NOTE: I apologize that I have yet to figure out how to attach this to my original thread in the recovery forum. Pls move it as necessary.)
Just wanted to share that everything I’ve read on BoneSmart regarding taking it easy on PT and letting time and healing do the job has been absolutely...
Ouch -I feel your pain! I’m so sorry. Were you at 80 before the revision surgery, or have you been working on your ROM since they put you in the brace? My doctor removed the brace at two months and that helped a lot but I still have a long way to go. I totally understand your worry.
I sincerely appreciate your response. May I ask why you were in an immobilizer? Was it related to a TKR? I’m worried that-since my progress slowed precipitously this past week (improved only 3 degrees and that was with PT’s help)- I’ve done all I can do and need an MUA to achieve a functional...
I see my surgeon in one week and I’m worried that he’s going to want to do an open MUA. Long story short, I had TKR on 1/26. Two weeks later while in PT I suffered an avulsion fracture of the patella. Knee immobilized for 8 weeks. My ROM today (5/1) was 75 (I was at 41 a month ago), but I only...
Don’t give up!!!!! I can’t imagine nothing can be done about a ruptured tendon. I so hope you find a surgeon who can help. Please keep us posted.
I can empathize with your depression over this issue. Besides the pain, the abrupt change in lifestyle is devastating. I too had a complication two...
After almost 6 weeks in a knee immobilizer (which started 2 weeks after TKR due to an aversion fracture of the patella) my surgeon gave me the OK to resume PT next week. My extensor mechanism is functional again and I’m able to do a straight leg lift again -yeah!!
But I’m SO scared because I...
