    Shoulder Arthroscopy Pre surgery question

Hmmm... I have a lot of pain raising my arm and extending it, like when you are putting a shirt on. May well be this one.:chinstroke: I need to arrange some time from work (not a problem, thank goodness). If I need an extended time off, I don't want to just arrange for a week, and then not be...

    Shoulder Arthroscopy Pre surgery question

Hi Everyone, I found the knee forum soooo helpful, that I thought I'd ask... I have a tear in the tendon in my shoulder, and need to have it repaired. The OS said I could probably go back to my desk job in a week or so. Is this vaguely realistic (or is this as big a fantasy as when the knee...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Quite possibly! Well, whether or not strengthening the ole hams will help the IT band, i suppose it will be good for something! Will keep posting!

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Thanks, @referee54 ! Will try the ice massage. I've had IT band problems for well over a year now, and have tried these (many times) and the foam noodle thing, too. The PT said he wasn't worried about stretching the band, but strengthening the other muscles. Does this make sense? It's...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Update... More of the same. Still lots of problems with the IT band -- pain from hip to knee along the side of my leg. Went back to the OS, and he recommended more PT. I found a new therapist. His take on it was that it's really due to weak hamstrings, and recommends exercises for them...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Hi @Jamie Thanks! Sorry for the late reply-- no news is good news... Still plodding along the recovery line-- incremental progress, but progress nonetheless. A little setback with a baker's cyst, but it seems to be clearing up. The milestone this week, was taking a short walk, and it dawned...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Hi All! It's been quite a while since I've posted, but nothing much to report. Things are imporving, but its quite incremental and slow. Still trying to reach the magic zero extension, although ROM is fine. Still a lot of muscle pain, and still icing (although I'm finding that the relief I...

Blendab1's LTKR is set for March 9th

Hi Blendab! Sometimes there' s too much information! (I can barely watch the cartoon version of the knee replacement, even after mine was done in Nov!). But, i've found that the actual experience isn't as bad as our imaginations would have it!! Not that it's easy, but the tips and other info...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Thanks, all. Luckily, I work from home, so no commuting involved, and no business travel scheduled until February--so a rather non-physical job. However, I was surprised at how hard it was to adjust to being back! Ah, well, there's always those 6 lucky numbers...maybe next week...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!

Hi Everyone, Hope the New Year is being kind to all! Was at the OS today for a checkup-- been two months since the op. Another milestone-- don't need to go back any more unless something goes wrong. Yea! :yay::yay: Also got some Tramadol-- been waking up at night with stiffness pain, so...

Hi @herdewe, welcome! I'm sure that one of the admins will be by soon to give you some reading material! But in the mean time, we're glad you popped in! Happy New Year (or should it be Happy Knee Year)! We're all scared prior to surgery, but waiting for the date is much harder than the actual...

TKR Out with the new; In with the newer!
