Happy anniversary @Fiona444 - I am so happy to read your update! We were so lucky to get this done last year to be able to get out and about right now. A great photo too! :happydance:
One year ago today! @Layla and @Mojo333 Thank you both for thinking of me.
Ì have just read through this thread and I am amazed at the progress I have made. It is true that it takes a full year to really see the full results. My hip feels totally "normal " now and I rarely give it a thought -...
I had a PRP Injection on the NHS here in the UK! I expect it depends on the individual surgeon and also location. On the day I had my injection, there were 6 of us! This injection is only recommended for certain conditions, I think, but I doubt that it would make anything worse.
Hi @Natka ! Sorry to read about your pain flare-up. I just wanted to let you know that I am also in the UK and I had the injection on the NHS. I am aware that It is very expensive otherwise. It was my surgeon's suggestion.
Good luck!
Yes, bursitis was my only problem at the time, although there was some arthritis according to the x-ray. The pain relief was instant. The only downside was the fact that I had to be strictly non weight-bearing for 6 weeks. They were very insistent about this if the injection was to be as...
Hi @BigDon ! I had a PRP injection nearly 2 years ago now and it has been a total success for me. I had been struggling with bursitis in my right hip for a couple of years and after a couple of cortisone injections which didn't work for any length of time, this was the last resort really. I...
Hi @VSlowLife ! It sounds like you are doing really well. I know it's still early days for you, but it seems like good progress.
I suffered from trochanteric bursitis in my right hip for almost 2 years in total. Not that it was diagnosed straight away - I was passed from one physio to...
Hi @CoastalGirl ! @CricketHip is right in saying that I had a prp injection for hip bursitis. I suffered from bursitis for about 2 years. I had countless rounds of physio, which didn't help, then a steroid injection which only lasted for 3 months. The consultant said that there was no point in...
Thanks for checking up on me @mojo - 6 months already, you're right!
I wish I could write a totally positive 6 month update, but of course I can't. My hip continues to be wonderful and I am so glad I had the surgery. When I think back to how I was this time last year, I am so grateful. I...
My 5 month update. That in itself seems incredible - 5 whole months??!!
The 4 - 5 month period was a real turning point for me. I had really reached the point where I wasn't giving much thought to my hip at all - just doing everything normally.
So it was all great - until it wasn't...
Hi @Calgal ! What a great report from your OS! A real boost to your confidence! You have moved steadily through this process and you are now really seeing the results. Well done!
