    Here I am again!

I finally heard back from the other surgeon. I go for post-op tomorrow (Friday)" and have my hernia surgery on Monday. That's the best news I've heard in a while. I should be coming out of surgery for my hip today, but it will happen sooner than later.Thank You Lord Jesus!

    Here I am again!

And the saga continues. Last Thursday the anesthesiologist called twice and my surgeon called once. They don't feel comfortable doing the surgery until after the hernia is repaired. They're concerned that I'll have breathing issues after the surgery because the hernia is so big it's restricting...

    Here I am again!

However...that soon may interfere with my PT. Ain't happenin'!

    Here I am again!

Oh, brother. In the course of my pre-op workups it was discovered that I have a large hiatal hernia...as in, my stomach and my pancreas are in my chest cavity instead of my abdominal cavity where they belong! So, as soon as my ortho doc deems it safe for me to have surgery again, I'll have that...

2019 June Sunbeams - Are you having hip surgery in June?

Take your pain meds faithfully, and stay on top of the pain. Set an alarm for the next dose. Also be faithful with your physical therapy exercises. You can do this! I'e had my right knee and my left hip done. You'll be glad you did this.

2019 June Sunbeams - Are you having hip surgery in June?

Me too...same surgery, same day. I can hardly wait. I've had my left hip and my right knee done already. I set off all the alarm at the airport! Good luck with your surgery and swift healing. And stay on top of your pain...set an alarm if need be. :loll:

    Here I am again!

I had a RTKR in 2010 and a LTHR in 2015 and have done great with both. I'm scheduled for a RTHR on June 6 and I am ready to get it over with! I could have had it done May 21 but my post-op caretakers (my daughter and my sister) are going to Norway for a week on May 22. :) Oh, well. I've had...

THR Poppet survived a major fall!

Wow! I'm so glad you're okay. Falls are so scary. I had a LTHR on October 16 and have been doing very well with it. In January, I tripped and fell on concrete...L knee, R knee, L hip. I had full range of motion and could walk just fine. However, since then, I've been having pain in that hip...

    THR I'm done!

Yes, and thank goodness for that! My main concern is my knee. I have one really sore spot. I can walk just fine but when I touch it or hit it on something, hoooeeee! Burning pain! I hope it's a small crack and not a clot. If it's not better by next week I'll call my doc.

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

As the others have said, don't overdo it. The extra walking may be the culprit. Hope by now you're better. I had my LTHR in October. At three months in, I'm not doing as well as I should be because I'm not doing my exercises (for reasons other than my hip). Good luck!

    THR I'm done!

Well mess. I had my first, and I hope only, fall just now. I'm not real sure what I did but I stepped down off the porch and lost my balance. I landed on my knees and then my hip. Of course, it just had to be the new one. It hurts and may bruise a bit but I can walk and have full range of...

    THR I'm done!

I'm halfway through my first night back at work (I work Sun/Mon midnights at our city jail, it's a very small office) and so far I am doing very well. Tomorrow may be another story! :heehee: When I get off at 0630 I will go home and ice my hip and rest, possibly until it's time to go to work...

    THR I'm done!

Thank you! It's a bit better today. I've not been really faithful with my exercises, I'm afraid. i can do most of them quite easily, and tend to forget to do them. The only one I absolutely cannot do is lift my leg when I'm lying down. It won't budge. But that will come with time.

    THR I'm done!

Oh dear. My hip is popping when I walk, when I swing my leg backward. I don't know if I've overdone it or if there is a problem or if it is normal. I will stay off of it until Monday, except for working Sun/Mon nights, and if it hasn't stooped, I'll call my OS. Anyone else had this experience?
