Thank you both, I really appreciate your comments. I am going to give it the time to see if it does get better over the coming weeks before I see my surgeon. Instinctively I feel I'm in for a hip revision.
I am now back to anti-inflammatories twice a day and absolutely no relief in terms of very sharp pains in my groin on certain movements i.e. leg raises (impossible), legs in table top position (very difficult) and getting in and out of bath/car etc. Walking uphill is also difficult. The pain...
Thank you for your kind and supportive comments, will let you know how it goes. More discomfort and pain today than 3 days ago and haven't done anything 'extra' so back on the anti-inflammatories.
Stitches removed (my op was arthroscopic). My surgeon says the recovery can be 6 to 8 weeks in terms of seeing the benefits so I need to be patient (not my strong card). Groin pain not unusual as tendons take a long time repair. I am very impatient and worried that I won't see the longed for...
Well, had the partial tenotomy on 23rd July and due to go back tomorrow for the stitches to be removed. Am still slight swollen but generally have got good movement. HOWEVER, I still have a lot discomfort in my groin - possibly worse than before - and no relief on leg raises or getting in and...
Thanks both. I do not have any pain with it other than a real weakness in certain movement (leg raises) but I am very active, walking, pilates etc etc and it is frustrating that my right leg is so much 'weaker' than my left. I have to lift it to get in and out of the bath and car for example...
Hi all. 3 years after a double hip replacement and much physio (and not being able to see my surgeon because of Covid) finally I have had an x-ray (all OK) and now an ultrasound which has revealed the psoas tendon issue in my right leg which, from day, has 'snapped' and in certain exercises...
I had to leave my waterproof dressings on for 14 days -and then I could remove. I was told do NOT remove them before then …. there was no problem showering and they worked a treat. Hope you can speak to your surgeon asap but I would definitely cover them and leave them until you are told...
If you have no-one at home this is going to be very tough, lonely and frightening in that first week or two so if you have the option of re-hab please please go. I stayed in hospital for 6 days and had a great husband who did everything for me. The nights are the hardest and getting in and out...
Am so pleased you're feeling a little better (and that you have a recliner). I have also posted my femoral photos on my day by day recover thread … we can compare! Re your back pain, this was and is definitely the same for me and I was NOT expecting it. Yes, I have a prolapsed disc (L3/4)...
Glad you've got through those first few days - it really is a tough one for us double hippies. Each day does get easier and whilst first few weeks are definitely in the 'don't want to go there again' box you will get through it quicker than you think. If you haven't picked this up before on...
Best of luck from another bilateral friend - mine was Feb 19th 2019. Am sure you will do amazingly and will find this site ENORMOUSLY helpful - lots of useful threads on bilateral recovery.
