while recovering from a RTKR my left knee has given out and will be replaced on 10/12
while i've been recovering from a RTKR my left knee has become worse and i'm scheduled to have my left knee replaced on 10/12
@MJ61 My thigh muscle is getting better, at first I had to work hard at it just to lift my leg off the bed. Because the chances are real good that my left knee will be replaced soon I have had to concentrate on getting my right knee in a good spot. So I have been working out more and to help...
There has been a little set back to recovery. A week ago I went to sit down and had terrific pain in my left knee, according to the doctor it will need to be replaced sooner then he thought. We are in the process of doing the gel injections but the doctor is pretty sure that it won't work, but...
Thank you, this was a good article. Seeing that everything else has been going pretty good so far I am going to remain positive :fingersx: and that it will get better.
Thank you .... I'm now 5½ weeks out, I have been going to PT but they don't really do anything that causes me pain.
I don't really have any pain but my knee is still a little swollen and it feels tight, one of the worse things is that I have no feeling on the right side of my knee. If...
It's been 3 weeks, I am getting around (slowly)with a walker and normally just need to have the pain meds so I can sleep at night. Went to the OS on Thursday and he was happy with my progress. The knee bends at 90 degrees and I can get the leg to almost straight, the biggest problem I have is...
update .... I've lost a total of 64 pounds and all the pre-op testing has been completed, my primary care has signed off on the surgery and now the only thing left is for tomorrow to get new x-rays for the OS. I am glad that surgery is next week because my knees feel like they are getting worse.
Good luck with your next appointment, I hope all goes well for you. I know how difficult it is, I have bone on bone in both my knees and my insurance company won't pay for surgery until I lose a lot of weight too. For me the weight gain was a lot easier then losing it. My surgeon recommended...
Thank you, I am very determined. I've had knee problems since I was in my early 20s but in the last 15 or 20 years they have gotten so much worse. The OS that I am seeing now has been the first doctor that has really helped me and has set me on the right tract to getting my knees fixed and not...
2/28 TRK denied by insurance until I lost weight, so I continued with the weight loss program and had bariatric surgery on 3/20. In total I have lost 47 pounds and os says he will be able to get the surgery approved for 5/30. I had hoped that the knee pain would have subsided a little with the...
I have lost 47 pounds so far, so my Right TKR has been rescheduled to May 30. Surgeon says he will have no problems getting the surgery approved by insurance company now! Hope he's right because even after losing the weight it has not helped with the knee pain. Left TKR will most likely be...
