THR Why does unoperated leg hurt?

Jaycey is right on, I'd get the walking poles, don't struggle to walk, that only puts extra effort on good joints and that's why non operative side may hurt.
In late March early April I tried getting back to work. Well within a couple of weeks I could barely walk and back on cane. Had MRI and new OS consult, lots of tests, nothing wrong with hip but have spinal stenosis which was affecting my walking and making me think it was my hip.
I have no shame using assistive device if needed.
All my best.

5 months post right THR. Doing ok. Walking without crutches, driving short distances. Try to keep moving as sitting seems to make me stiffen. One problem is discomfort in unoperated leg, mainly front of thigh. Had right TKR in February 2023, so new right leg in a way!

Looks like you're overall doing well. Stiffness with sitting should continue to slowly improve.
It's possible that with two surgeries on your right leg in a short period your left leg needed to carry a little more more weight and control with each step you took.

It's tougher this time of the year. Do your best to keep moving if even a bit every day until spring allows your body to really heal and relax. Your unoperated leg has done all the hard work. No surprise when it gets a bit annoyed. Keep moving!!

Still having discomfort in unoperated leg. Have been going for walks of about 30-40 minutes with 1 crutch. Both legs ache for rest of day afterwards. I am getting a bit tired of the slow progress. Right knee Feb 23 and right hip Aug 23. Seeing Consultant in 2 weeks for follow-up.

Maybe you can reduce the length of your walk for a few weeks. The Mish mosh weather this time of year doesn't help either. My 90 year old Dad is driving from New England to Florida over the course of a week, visiting with family. It may not be summer weather but it is much warmer. The month to 6 weeks he spends in warmer climate, walking the beach and even biking a bit help him become incredibly loosened up and less acy in general. I am jealous. Any chance you can take some time in a warmer climate? If not, it will be warmer soon.
Remember that it took a long time for your knee and hip to fail needing replacement. It will take a long time to get back to a more normal gait and feel.

@Susytish I used sommercial time when watching TV to just do knee bends and leg extentions. Think of creative ways to just get movement. I try to make eveything I do fun. But then again I'm an 8 year old. My wife calls me the son she never had. LOL Best wishes
