THR on 11/14

Since it is now after midnight, my surgery date is tomorrow! November 14th. Need to be at Tampa General at 7am, surgery set for 10am.

Good luck tomorrow! Glad you have early schedule--beats sitting around all day getting nervous!

Hi @amy’s mom
It looks like your surgery was today. Assuming all went well.
Hopefully your pain is well controlled and you are able to rest comfortably.
Keep icing, it truly helps.
Wishing you comfort and healing!

Thinking of you. First days are tough...healing wishes:loveshwr:

Well, I have survived and am doing well! I ended up needing an extra day in the hospital because I couldn’t pee and my leg kept swelling. I still have problems with the swelling around my ankle. I have progressed to the cane and it is working quite well. My PT guy is good and very helpful. I am really allowing my body to heal without a whole lot of intervention. I do my exercises, elevate my leg, and get waited on in my own home!!!

Wednesday I go back to the surgeon to remove the stitches and find out what’s next on the agenda. When can I drive again, etc. The only real problem I have is being comfortable in my bed. I could sleep in the recliner, but the dog cries if I’m not in place....all night long.

❤️

Hi @amy's mom
It sounds as though you are doing well.
It's good to hear you're letting your body heal naturally without pushing it.
Sorry to hear you aren't able to get as comfy you'd like due to your dog.
Hopefully you're able to sneak in some restorative naps in your recliner during the day.
That's if your boss, the dog allows, Lol! Our pets can be like kids in assuming they rule the roost,
I speak from experience...with both.
Best wishes for continued healing

Yay....glad you are on the healing side. Rough stuff these first weeks but it has great rewards!:ice:

Hi Amy's mom - I have 2 'velcro' dogs who don't like me out of their sight ("I'm going to the loo with you cos I know you'll sneak out of the other door I'm sure you have in the bathroom" :heehee:) and they have always slept in my bedroom......after my op I think I'll be downstairs for a bit, and plan to move their beds down too......I figured that they'd cope better with a change of room than with being 'abandoned'! Is this an option for you? Glad to hear you're recovering well, must be a relief to be 'on the other side' :happydance:
