The reasons for this are that it
1. makes it easier for guests to read the continuous story of a member's recovery - the most important reason
2. avoids people duplicating and repeating things like links to articles
3. helps us to refresh on what you've had done and when, plus what advice was given previously
5. keeps all advice previously given on hand for the poster
6. makes it unnecessary for the member to keep repeating surgery details
7. just makes it easier for everyone all round!

ok here I am post op day 5. still wake up not believing that I actually did it, but that bone on bone pain that I dealt with for 5 years is gone!!!!!!!!!!!! changed my bandage yesterday and took a shower. that was great!!!!!!!!!!! incision looks clean and good. my surgeon must have gotten some training doing plastic surgery somewhere because it just looks beautiful. still having some post op discomfort, but the Percocet knocks that out within 30 minutes of taking it. just had another good bowel movement. ah!!!!!!!! the simple things we take for granted. loving the idea that I watch the horrible traffic here in Atlanta knowing that I do not have to partake in the chaos. thank you jesus!!!!!!!!am I the only once but things like this tend to make me think about the direction that I am headed in and any changes that I would like to make. haven't really beem happy at my job for years. but dealt with it because with a bad hip I figured no one else would hire me, now I feel like brushing up my resume. I have a lot to offer and feel that I am very under appreciated. none of those vultures have yet to call and check on my condition. anyway I am just ranting so for that I do apologize. I am thinking of Elaine this morning today is her big day and my thoughts and prayers will be with her today as she takes the step into a better life. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi @teejay1 I had to move your post to this thread (again). Can you please not start a new thread and keep all your post op information on this one? That way we can track your progress all in one place.

Sounds like you are really doing well. It's a great time to dust off that resume. The confidence from accomplishing your THR will surely shine through.

Oh that first shower post op sure feels great! Glad to hear that your recovery is going well for you. What a blessing this surgery is to give us a better quality of life.

Yes its a good time for reflection when you cannot run around, not fill your time with nonsense and have more "me" time! At 51 you still have time to change direction so I hope you have ideas of what you want!

You put up with the pre op hip saga for 5 years. I thought I was bad enough being in the pre op stage for 4 yrs! Lets hope never again.

well my fellow hippies post op day 7. today took my last antibiotic still injecting the lovenox everyday. that is getting easier. my swelling is way down now. it is very cold her so I am not going outside, but I am feeling pretty good otherwise. just got pain meds refilled and that should take me the rest of the way. I am needing them less frequent not, but still need them especially at night to sleep. haven't heard anything from Elaine?? she was scheduled for surgery on Monday, but haven't heard anything. she was talking about backing out. I sure hope she didn't, but for anyone that does I will be the first to say we have no judgements here! hell I backed out twice before I got the courage needed to do what should have been done 4 years ago. this surgery is truly a live changing event and if you are suffering like I did then please get it done asap. and thanks again to all of you that helped give me the courage to do my surgery. I am going to pay it forward every chance I get. god please all of you and to a live of no pain and good mobility.
