PKR Stiffness, Weakness on Weight-Bearing 16 mos. after PKR

@76Dawg .... I'm so sorry it has taken so long to get back with you. We did forward your images on to one of the surgeons we work with, but he was unable to provide comments on them. I'm sorry. Jo is still not back yet following her own surgery, so at this point we have no way to analyze your images.

Please do let us know what your medical team has to say and we'd appreciate hearing how you're doing. Be sure and tag me if you want a quick response. With a tag, I'll see your post faster. To tag me you type the "at" sign (@) followed by my username with no space like this .... @Jamie

My December 2019 CT Scan with Mako protocol showed no loosening and minor patellofemoral degenerative changes.

My knee has movement in the joint laterally. I am still having the same symptoms. My theory is the spacer should be larger, which would prevent the lateral movement within the joint.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

It would seem your opinion may be correct. Have you talked with your original surgeon yet and would you be willing to give a spacer exchange a try? The only issue I see is that, if there is deterioration beginning in another compartment of your knee, a surgeon may just want to do a TKR instead. That deterioration will only get worse once it starts. It makes no sense to have 2 surgeries when one would fix the problem for good.

I agree with Jamie. Partials seem to be a temporary fix with having to have a revision to a total. Totals last upwards of 30 years or more.

May I ask if your OS suggested a medial PKR in the same knee? I’m curious as to how often that is done. Cannot find anyone on BS that mentioned that.
Hope you feel better.
