That is very good news. Will they biopsy the fluid to see what the germ is? Sometimes that can help deciding what antibiotic is best but I'm speaking from my own experience and my infection started in the bone so maybe it's different when they can see it. I wish you comfort and peace as you go through this extra step towards healing.

Everything went okay with the surgery to clean out my wound. He cleaned it out really good and put a couple of stitches to help close it. It was a hole and about as big as nickel. They placed a woundvac on me that I will wear for 7 days and gave me IV antibiotics. He said we caught it early and infection was minimal. I'm so relieved it's over and going home as soon as my husband gets here. No place like home!

Oh that is great news! Will you be taking IV antibiotics for a while? If so are you administering it at home?

They didn't send me home with antibiotics IV, but gave me three IV's, so I guess he thought it wasn't that bad! I'm just home from the hospital! Home sweet home!
