Sorry you're dealing with pain. It's great that you're returning to activity, but don't lose site that you're only six months post TKR, and not even five months post MUA...which set you back. Even at this point, returning to the gym and a lot of walking can stress healing tissues, especially if the surrounding muscles are weak. Overuse can cause inflammation and irritation, which you're experiencing.
Continue to rest, ice and elevate, reducing your activity level temporarily to allow the situation to ease. Consider avoiding high impact exercises and excessive walking until the pain decreases. Over the counter meds as needed should help. If the pain increases in frequency or intensity, you can contact your surgeon's office for advice.
Wondering if you wore shoes with your old wear pattern when you did all the walking in Florida? If so, it is important to have a comfortable pair of shoes with good support that do not hold your pre-op wear pattern.
