I am now 24 days post-op. I have now spoken with blue cross blue shield, and they have assured me that the out of network Dr is covered by an out of network rate of reimbursement. I will be covering the Drs fee out of pocket. So far my rehab has gone very well, i still hope the decision to go with this out of network dr continues to be viewed as the right decision.

Does the hospital you had it at have a charity? If so I'm sure they will help ya... Good luck.

The hospital and all services are covered under insurance plan.
I negotiated with the Dr, and they gave me a bottom line figure, that i am responsible for. Its frustrating how BCBS decides who is in network and who isnt, and what reimbursement is for each.
