I am 5 months out from my RTHR. I started having some pain when I touched the area below my scar for awhile now. I kept massaging it but to no avail. Yesterday it ached and now I feel a separation that starts at the bottom of the scar about 2”. Almost seems like the muscle maybe separated. This opening I only noticed yesterday when I was apply heat which made it worse so went to ice which did help the pain. I feels a bit swollen to the left of the scar as well. Any insights as to what this might be

Hmm, not really sure what to think.
I'd suggest you phone your surgeon's office and after explaining what you did here, they will either advise or have you schedule an appointment. There is nothing like peace of mind.

Thanks I do have an appointment at 3 today so we will see.

He said it was most likely a band of scar tissue that tore, thinks it will fill in after awhile. Said to really work that area with a massage gun to help it brake up,
