THR Knee pain after THR

Hi there @WI-Gal
I'm sorry you're currently in pain. Sadly, I'm unfamiliar with your issue so unable to offer
any advice. Our Nurse Director Josephine is currently unavailable. I would suggest you phone the office of your OS to speak with him, or a member of his care team, if this is extremely bothersome.
Consider gently attempting some of the stretches recommended below to loosen IT band tightness.

@WI-Gal, my PT is doing deep tissue massage on my thigh and leg. At first it was very painful, now I look forward to it because it seems to be making a difference on the leg pain, especially at night. I gave up the pain pills a few days ago and am surviving on 1300 mg Tylenol Arthritis at night and during the day only as needed. One things that seems to help the leg pain is to take a hot shower right before bedtime. It also helps the tightness on my back, which is a result of sleeping on my back.

I can relate to your situation @WI-Gal although my surgery Was 12/28. I also had a lot of pain in my knee right after my surgery, and my issues have been more knee/calf and feet than hip. Although my surgeon seemed baffled by numbness I was having (since I also had anterior approach), I did some research. I found that there is a branch of the sciatic nerve that passes through the lateral knee and then into the lower leg. I suspect that when they were using my knee for leverage/positioning during surgery, it aggravated that nerve. The result was knee pain and the numbness I have that follows the nerve distribution of this nerve. It seems to be slowly subsiding, but when I overdo it, I feel it in my knee and below! Like others have said, patience is key....and slow and steady! Icing is key! I'm sure you will continue to see improvements with time!

I am 3 weeks post op anterior hip replacement and my knee is stiff and if I put too much weight on the operated leg it hurts, and today it is hurting by the incision. Yesterday I was driving and walking today I am hobbled ugh
