I had my first THR nearly 8 years ago. Now I have just had my 33rd operation on the same hip. I know there will be more operations, but for now I’m home.
I have no right hip, there is a 4” gap between the acetabulum and the femur, there is very little left to work with.
I’m on a stupid, ridiculous amount of drugs, methadone, morphine and other.
Has anyone had, or experienced what I’m going through now.
I hope someone out there can talk with me.

Hi, Welcome back to BoneSmart.
I'm sorry for your struggles and longsuffering. Its been quite a journey for you.
Wondering if you've endured 33 surgeries, or if that's possibly a typo?

While we're here to support and encourage you, I'm not sure what type of advice you're seeking.
Your situation sounds quite unique and sadly I'm not sure there will be many who can relate.
Hopefully someone stops by who is able to offer you the insight you're looking for.
Wishing you comfort as you move forward.

@holidays I feel so sad for you reading your history, life during these last years must have been very difficult for you. I can no way imagine what you are going or have gone through, but I do understand about suffering and the strength that takes to get to the other side, i hope being here at Bonesmart will help you as much as it has me. I pray for you to get some extra strength. Hugsxxx

So sorry 8 years later you are still recovering. Exactly how many surgeries? Hoping only 3. Get rest and enjoy those meds while your body heals.

Hello @holidays - I'm sorry you're still having problems with your hip.
I see, from your previous thread, that your first THR was on October 2011. Please can you update us with the surgeries you've had since then and their dates? (I think you meant to say you've had 3 operations on your hip, not 33.)

Are you still seeing the same orthopaedic surgeon who did your initial surgery, or do you have another surgeon now?

I'm sure there is light at the end of your long, dark, tunnel, but it may take a while before you find it. Meanwhile, hang in there. We're here to support you, listen to your concerns, and provide a shoulder to cry on, if necessary. :console2: :friends:
