How to prep for OS consult (LOL)

Too funny! I just had my surgery last week and pre-op I had weigh-ins at family doctor, with pre-op nurse, anesthesiologist consultation and then even on the surgery day where I kept my shoes on. Those are the only ones I can remember. I also had to spell my name a lot in case an imposter is going in for a hip replacement.

I don't have a problem spelling my last name, I try to throw in a little joke. Seems like everyone wants to hear my DOB. @Kazann Not sure who would want someone else's hip. But I don't think they could fake my x-ray ID. It wouldn't be as easy as my Passport

In the hospital for my first THR, I had to give my name and birthday to EVERY person that came into my room, including the person bringing my food. And every time they drew blood, brought meds, etc. I kept thinking about a prisoner of war camp - name, rank and serial number!

It begins to feel like those pieces of information aren't that big a secret.:heehee: I give my husband's name and BOD to pick up his Rx:loll:Walgreens is funny here. :flabber: I cannot drop off my husband's Rx.:chinstroke: The Patient must drop off the Rx. They told me that I could pick them up. I cannot follow that logic. :headbang: (He is under the care of a Pain Management doc. So I know they are 'special'.)

But the Walgreens here let my 16 YO son drop off and pick up my Norco 10 rx - go figure!

Hhhhmmmmm......... I have been asked for my ID to drop DH's Rx. I don't mind. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide ID and sign to pick them up.

But then, when asked if I minded if my carry-on was searched and checked for explosives,:scare: overseas, I said I do not mind. I'm happy for you to check. He was very polite. :thumb:

Even before 9/11, I was the lucky random person. The man was rather unpleasant. :nah:I noticed that he was digging around in my dirty clothes:eeeuw:. I told him he was welcome to check, but those were my worn:whistle:. I think he was suddenly done. :rotfl:

Some things are great comic relief:rofsign:

You will definitely be the random person with your new metal hardware. I was given a card, haven't used it yet.

Yeah, not sure what to do with mine

I discontinued a couple of Rx, early. 1st one, I found ankles! Next one, I read someone had hair loss.... So it is not my imagination that I can see my scalp and there are hairs falling Everywhere! I checked the possible side effects. Yup! And I might gain weight. Hhhhmmmmm...... My jeans all shrank and now I can blame the Rx, too! And I can't really exercise with a bum hip. I don't own any scales, but I think some of the extra ton just might have been the Rx. Nothing at all to do with Chocolate!! Maybe I will open my eyes when I step on the scale the next time. Still wearing light clothes!

@AgilityDog I bought some second hand loose bottoms for recovery. There is swelling after surgery so I didn't want to be disappointed thinking I was gaining weight if my own clothes were too tight. When I got home from the surgery, wearing my second hand loose bottoms when a friend arrived, I got up to proudly show off my new hip and my walker abilities to find my bottoms fell down to my ankles.:heehee: Hmmm, I must of lost weight from surgery.
