I know how you feel.sometimes I have to just read something positive on here and kind of take a break from reading all the stories as it can make you feel overwhelmed . I have heard mostly positive things on here and I think what I have built up in my head is worse than it really is. I am a teacher so I do not need to worry about getting back to work quick as I will have the whole summer to recover, but that is why I have planned it for may 16!!! I am originally from long island. Grew up there...moved to florida for college and never left!!! Where on long island do you live? About care... I am really independent... so I know how you feel. I have a 21 and 22 year old...but they are working hard after college and luckily I have an amazing husband... to take care of me.. he is a former paramedic firefighter and loves to take care of people...so I am lucky. I hear a lot of people who manage really well on their own after surgery... I am sure you will do great... we will keep in touch... the support is great on here... keep writing and tell your fears.. people are there to help.
Hi psychteach, it sounds like like you will have great support. That is awesome. I grew up in Lindenhurst and now live in Commack. Right now I wish I lived in Florida. It is downright frigid here. Part of me wishes my surgery was a little later so I'd be able to walk outside when I get home from hospital. Just something else to stress over. LOL. I am so grateful to have a place to share all that is going on inside of my head and have so many people understand exactly what I'm feeling. What a gift!
