Glenda, so very pleased you are back with us, we have missed you and were worried.
So do you mean you are not having any pain now? That is fantastic if it is what you mean. Are you sleeping any better now? I have a couple of good nights a week, I am taking a herbal sleep remedy, it helps me relax so I don't always have to get up in the night anymore, although I did tonight, but I have a bit of a jip tummy at the moment, so it woke me up prpoer!!
I am still reliant on my Percs, but I got off them before, gradually, and will do so again. My OS(orthopaedic surgeon) understands the need for pain relief while recovering from such major surgery, I really need the pills when I am doing PT (physio therapy). How are you getting on with your PT now, I think you said you were going privately? I could not have got through this without going to mine, she really gives me a lot of encouragement and doesn't push me too far over my pain threshold, which is probably why I am still only at 90 degree ROM (range of movement) or bend. But she still thinks I am doing OK.
I also could not have got through this so far without having found this forum. I kept crying to my husband that I thought there was something wrong with me as I was still in so much pain and couldn't stop bawling all the time. I though I was going to recover almost as well as I had after former more minor knee surgery's I had in the past. To see the threads in this forum was so uplifting to me, I realised I was experiencing the same things as most of the other TKR patients. I also enjoy the fun posts on this forum, it makes me laugh, and laughter is the best medicine !!
You have had to suffer so much in the past, I really feel for you. You have gone through so much more than anyone else here I think. Please continue to post, we really care you know.
Hugs, Sue
