Foxybrown Hi Michelle, so sorry about the alerts. We did have problem recently and no one was getting them. Back on track now I think!

Please don't be discouraged. Your PT has given you some good advice. Get that strength back on the op side. You WILL run again - but these things take time. Consider everything you are doing now preparation for that day when you are running again.

Hi Michelle, yes, recovery is a slow process.. I still think I am in recovery at 20 months post, even though I don't think about my hip anymore.. You will get there, you will run again.. Keep that thought in your mind..

Thank you for all your encouragement, Poppet and Jaycey!!! :)

I'm off to the gym right now. I know that this hip is getting stronger every day, I guess I just didn't realize how slow a process it really is. Anyway, these are the cards I've been dealt, so gotta play them. :umm: And I just have to keep reminding myself of the fact that I'm in a MUCH better place than I was pre-surgery!! :yay: I'm just going to have to work very hard at making sure I'm strengthening these muscles! And my GP has set me up with a sports medicine doctor, so I'm hoping she can help me speed up this process!

Have a great day, hippies!!

Peace out,

Michelle

Enjoy gym, do let us know how you go :)

Hi Michelle- You will be back to normal soon! It just seems like forever right now because you are in the middle of it. I think you will be surprised at how quickly you can get stronger once you have been doing focused exercises. Good luck! ... and keep us posted on your progress.
