TKR Dilemma with knee. Help!

Hi @kelleygirl. I had my TKR on Dec 27 2017. MUA Feb 22 and yes I’m still having problems too! You are not alone. I have an appointment tomorrow with my OS to get his opinion on what’s going on but mostly to get my files to go to 2 new OS for second opinions. We are all here for you! There are several of us that are still having issues and are struggling to get our lives back. They have been very helpful to me and I am sure they will be by here to offer some good advice.

I have been exercising everyday at home and also at PT
Your poor knee is inflamed and swollen and had never had a chance to heal with all this exercise and your MUA. Your knee wasn't out of shape. It was traumatized from an extremely damaging surgery. All your knee needed to heal and recover was doing just your normal daily activities that your knee allowed without pain.

Please stop all your exercises and PT and let your knee recover from all this inflammation it has. You are doing it more harm than good. Your knee is not even halfway through a year long recovery.

Sounds to me as if you're doing too much therapy - and th hasn't worked well for your knee.

Why not try something different? Cut back all your PT therapy and just let you activities of daily living be your exercise. Your knee needs time and gentle treatment, so it can calm down and heal.

It's not exercising that gets you your ROM - it's time. Time to recover, time for swelling and pain to settle, and time to heal. Your ROM is there right from the start, just waiting for all that to happen, so it can show itself.
There's no need to rush to get ROM (Range of Motion) because it can continue to improve for a year, or even much longer, after a knee replacement. There isn't any deadline you have to meet:
