Hello all! Thank you all for you support! It wasn't so bad. The part of the actual surgery after you get to the point where you are really going in there, it actually takes on a life on its own and you aren't worried any more. I had a spinal and wasn't really aware when I was getting it the anesthesiologist was very nice. Then I had some kind of stuff in my IV line and I was out like a light.

I'm doing very well, the bone on bone pain in that one leg is gone, and so it that pain in that knee that I was worried about. I just have to be very careful how I walk so I don't do this twisting motion that I am not supposed to do.

After all that worrying about my blood pressure -- they actually have to worry about it being TOO LOW once we got started, and throughout my stay. Weird.

I seem to have also forgotten how to type.

Anyway that is about it and I just got home and a very tired so I going to go lay own or lay in my recliner.

Love, peace, and a big thank you of gratitude to all.

Milli

Oh, super! I am SO very happy for you. Now your job is to recover safely and well. Welcome, indeed, to the other side -- I hope to meet you there in a few months. You GO, girl!!

Well, well, well ... look who's here! Butterfly, you made it! You sound really good, too.
I'm so sorry I forgot to warn you about the irony regarding the infamous high blood pressure suddenly dipping quite low after surgery. Just like you, my BP elevated prior to surgery and I was having to have it monitored. Then all during the hospital they were monitoring it for being too low. Try not to worry about it. Hope you are not worrying about anything. To repeat everyone else, rest, ice, elevate, repeat. It's not a athletic event to train for; it's just a slow, sane, and smart marathon of sorts. As you can see, your BoneSmart Fan Club is pulling for you and sending you good vibrations. Take care, get rest, and let us hear from you when you feel up to it.

Butterfly - Wonderful you are home! Seems so soon.... I thought they would have kept you another day. I hope all the fear and anxiety has lifted and you can rest and heal

Looking forward to your posts!!

So glad your home, now rest up and let the healing take place. I also had crazily low blood pressure so make sure you drink lots of water and don't get up to quick. We are all looking forward to your recovery posts but in your own good time xx

Ha ha ha,I knew youd be fine Butterfly.I laugh because I can see you in my minds eye saying to yourself "now that wasnt to bad" .You hit the nail right on the head when you said the surgery takes on a life of its own.Your home earlier than I thought Im quite impressed woman.Actually the surgery is the easiest part of all this compared to the pre op pain and alteration of life because of it,now the post op rehab wont be that easy either, but it gets easier every day.Make sure you eat.Dont worry about putting on a couple lbs. Ive put on 5.Your body needs nutrition to rebuild.Better to have a caloric surplus than deficit.Rest up lady.Peace.

Pretty awesome how quickly the actual surgery goes once you're in, eh? My wife almost fainted when the OS called her after :43 and said. "I'm done."

Get comfy on that recliner, ice it, elevate it and catch up on some reading or telly! In a few days you'll want to start getting about little by little.

Just listen to your body, it will let you know what to do! Remember recovery happens to you, you don't drive it!

Oh, yay! Butterfly so glad it went well, and that you are home. Rest as much as you can. It is amazing how difficult it is to type for a few days after the surgery. Someone kindly pointed out the edit link!

Ice!

Hi Butterfly I am so glad that you are home which is the best place to be for your recovery.Your body needs a lot of rest, good nutrition and lots of water.A good dose of Senna is also essential to help your bodily functions whilst you are taking the strong pain killers.Let us know how you are doing when you can.

Well done, Butterfly!

Your story reminds me of a cartoon I saw once. Two caterpillars are gazing in awe as a beautiful butterfly flutters by overhead. One caterpillar says: "You'll never get me up in one of those."

I'm so glad you've taken to the wing at last.
