TKR 6 weeks post op and still in pain

I've been on muscle relaxers for 2 months now because all the muscles in my left leg are so tight and won't relax. I'm at a loss. Therapy feels good when I'm there but after an hour or 2 I can barely stand.
These are indications that you are doing more than your knee is ready for. You should not be in this much pain after a PT session.

I suggest cutting back on the PT, and just live your life as you are able. Your leg will relax, and strengthen, over time. 4 months is 1/3 towards complete healing, which takes an average of a year.

In the general run of things, this recovery doesn't need to be fought for, worked hard for or worried about. It will happen. Normal activity is the key to success.

I'm surprised you're still going to PT with this country's shutdown. Please be careful. Your surgery wasn't that long ago so your resistance might be lower. You can do the same exercises at home that you do at PT and that would be a lot safer.

Hello,

I hope things are now going well for you. Like you, I am suffering hypersensitive skin on the medial side of my knee. I wondered if you could update me on whether that has improved for you and if so, what if anything you did to improve the hypersensitive response?

Thanks
Barry
