I've been lurking about reading ....yes after a few painful years (undiscovered congenital dysplasia finally got the better of me at only 52!)...I'm up for THA left side, direct anterior approach on 1 Feb, pre-op appt 18 Jan....getting nervous....but hopeful the deep constant pain will be gone....so tired of living off naproxen, meloxicam, aspirin, or simple whiskey and cola lol.

I am having a left THR on February 15, 2017, and am so frightened! I had a DVT (blood clot) in this leg diagnosed in August, 2015, and have had to wait for this clot to resolve ( it only did partially, the part behind my knee has hardened and is now considered "chronic") before having this surgery. I have also been told both knees need replaced, also, so this is the first step! If anyone has had a blood clot PRIOR to having this surgery, I would be especially interested in hearing about their experiences.
