TKR 16 weeks post right TKR

16 weeks post right TKR. Still bit of a struggle. Ice in mornings as most stiff then. Elevate. Walked 20 minutes and felt it next day but had to do that much. I believed I would be fine by now, so feeling down with it. Have arthritis in right hip but wasn't painful before, although wwas told that would probably need doing at some point.

@Susytish, Hi, like you I thought I'd be so much better than I am at 15 weeks today. This has be an incredibly hard journey so far. I continue doing my physio but not to pain levels and I have improved on everything except my bend (90 - 100) Other areas now ache more than they ever did before my RKR ( other knee and lower back) and at times I think why did I do this. I think maybe some of us have to be prepared for the long healing journey, which is hard, and I give myself hope by reading about people who made progress later, here and on FB groups. I'm hoping time is the great healer, so they say. Try and keep positive although I know it's hard. Sending best wishes. xx

@Susytish This recovery can definitely take a long time, the surgery causes so much disruption internally. Try to be patient and just do what you can each day. Look back at how far you have come, since the first week of surgery, and you’ll see there really has been quite a bit of progress.

I‘m sorry about your husband, I’m sure that’s a difficult situation. :console2:

By the way, I merged your newest thread with your original recovery thread, as we prefer that members in recovery have only one thread.

This benefits you because all your information is in one place, easy to find, and maintains a nice journal for you.

This also benefits our staff, as your information is all in one place, and we often go back through your thread for previous details, so we know what you‘ve been through which helps us advise you better.

So, please keep all your posts in this thread. If you’d like a new title, let us know what you want, and we’ll change it for you.

Many members bookmark their thread in their computer browser, so they can find it when they log on.
How can I find my threads and posts?

Best wishes on your continuing recovery!
