I feel SO much better prepared after reading everyone's comments on this blog. Thanks to all who have taken the time to put their thoughts down here for the comfort and reassurance of others.

I would not have considered a Spinal for my LTHR before coming here, but because of all the positive comments, I've now definitely decided to do it!

I'll be at the hospital at 5:30 tomorrow morning (2/17) and while I'll be apprehensive, I'll be thinking about all the positive and uplifting conversations I've read here. Right now, I'm just focusing on the recovery rather than the procedure (and praying the pain meds do their job!).

As many others have said, I'm grateful I found this site and I thank you all for sharing and supporting it. You're providing an invaluable service to all who come through this behind you!

Bee Jay, welcome to the forum and thank you for such a lovely compliment! Please post when you can and let us know how you're getting along. We generally and jokingly say "see you on the 'other side'" but of course we mean the recovery forum!

Hope everything goes smoothly and you come out with a big smile on your face!

Hey Bee Jay,

You're on your way. Great news! We will be sending you positive vibes. Do let us know how you are getting on when you can. I have made the same decision about a spinal based on reading this site so will be anxious to hear how it went.

Take care! Jaycey

I'm so glad this site has helped you....isn't it wonderful to find a group that's going through what you have!! Best wishes to you, I hope you'll update us when you can.

Hi

Good luck, I am sure you will do just wonderfully tomorrow. I will keep you in my thoughts too.

Isn't this just the most best place for finding info, calming rattled nerves and boosting your bravery level? I am so glad I found it too.

Take care and cya back on the boards as soon as you are up to it.

Hi, Bee Jay! Welcome to BoneSmart! It's always great when a "lurker" decides to post and get officially welcomed into the BoneSmart family. I hope you can find the time to post after your surgery and let us know how you're getting along. But for now....good luck tomorrow and I'll be saying a prayer for a fast and easy surgery.

Thanks again for all the words of encouragement.

To keep it in perspective, I'm thinking about the people in Haiti who have severe injuries and little or no medical attention, and our troops in the middle east suffering from devastating battlefield injuries and dismemberment.

I'll be in a clean, modern hospital with the best of care, and will come out better than I went in. Put in that light, I'm almost ashamed to be fearful.

I won't have my laptop at the hospital, but I will be sure to check back in with you all when I return home. See you on the other side!!
