Thanks @liam2015. Sorry to hear you had a few set backs. My wife wears her fitbit watch to track her steps, but tries to be active around the home daily. We also try to leave 1-2x a day, and our garage walk there and back is about 200 steps. She still has to alternate between cane and roller...
Time for another update. My wife is 8.5 mo postop from her tibial plateau fracture/meniscus repair surgery. The last two months have been slow but steady. She is currently in PT/massage therapy including 1 pool session a week. She has added Pilates reformer occasionally. She was non weight...
My wife is recovering from tibeal plateau fracture, and just passed 7 mo post surgery. My wife gets swelling in her ankle area at least 1x a week. She was non weight bearing for 12-13 weeks after surgery and it has taken along time to walk. In the last 4 weeks she has moved from walker to cane...
My wife is recovering from TPF. She is approaching 7 mo PO. Given hardware present I would encourage speaking to a different provider. Although if you think there will be hardware removal down the line possibly, the drill bit could be removed then if it is not causing problems now.
A quick 6 mo update on my wifes TPF and Meniscus repair. She has switched to a sports oriented PT 3 weeks ago, and added pool therapy, weekly massage to her PT. Most of the PT emphasize on what she can do at home (heal slides, leg lifts, sit stands, and alternating balance between legs.) and...
My wife had a leg fracture, and she is doing aqua therapy now. It is helping her gain strength, and believe the ROM is also benefitting. The warm water tends to help loosen things up also.
My wife had a low key weekend, some heal slides at home, stretching, some band work and practice with her walker on good gait mechanics. Well today at PT she did her exercise and measured at 123 flexion. This is an improvement of 5 degrees from last Friday. In 10 days she will hit 6 months PO...
We purchased small steps, but more like an exercise step that allows adjustment of height. She will probably place in front of her walker to allow use of the rails for safety, but think it will be good to build strength. Today was tough for sure, my wife was super sore from pool therapy - just...
Quick update on my wifes therapy work. This is the fist week of more focused PT and massage. She completed aquatic therapy on an underwater treadmill. They raised the treadmill platform out of the water so she did not have to use stairs to get into the pool. They also had 3 cameras on her when...
Thanks. Glad to hear your husband is doing better. My wife has not been brave enough to try wall slide/squats, but she has tried sit stands with a chair. She had her first day with water PT. First off, a great rehab means. Will provide more in my blog. Maybe now you will be able to focus a...
Hi @AZTeri
My wife is about 24 weeks post op commuted tibial plateau fracture. She had surgery and is working on rehab now. Her knee flexion (ROM) has been slow to come back, but slowly getting there at 117. It took her 12 weeks before she could weight bear. She has some bone issues and muscle...
Understand completely. My wife is not ready to tackle stairs. We have talked about her trying to start with 1-2 to start getting used to them. Her quad is still super weak and very tight. She has another massage session and first water therapy tomorrow - so hope that will help quad. Are you...
Agree with those on the board. My wife is recovering form a leg trauma, and over did it last week and ROM was down almost 10 degrees from swelling - and this is 5 mo out. So swelling control is super important to ROM.
