Hi there bowhunter. I’ve been away for a while as well. I also have had some blues. I went from cycling 3-4 days a week to nothing for a year. I gained 30 pounds and got really down. But I’ve started to turn a corner. I hope you do as well. I’ve pushed myself to get active and do more outside...
Yes, bone on bone again. I’m 8 weeks out. Joined gym under advisement of PT to start weight training to strengthen. Still not sleeping well and still have some bad pain days but have really good days too. No regrets.
Glad you are doing so well.
@Cementless
I go stir crazy in the house all day so my motivation to get off the meds was to be able to drive. I still take a Percocet every night as that’s when the pain is worst. There have been a few days I’ve taken some during the day but not very often. I’ve also turned into the...
@mngirl
That is amazing! So glad you had a great recovery. I went back at 4.5 weeks which was tough with the little sleep I was getting. But my coworkers were really good about stepping in if I needed to sit down for a bit. I also iced during lunch every day. This recovery seems to be going...
Almost at 2 weeks now. This recovery has been better than the last. I have had very little swelling which has made the pain less and my ability to ambulate and do my exercises more regularly. The pain meds this time we’re also different, hydrocodone the first round and Percocet this round. I had...
Sounds like you are doing great. I still have pain in my distal quads when walking. PT has me exaggerate my steps making sure to engage the quads by flexing the quad as lift the leg then step down with heel first then toes. Not sure if your pain is in the same place but this really helps me...
I am ambulatory at least every hour. I have the Breg polar cube and keep the ice on when I’m on couch along with elevation. The Percocet script is written every 4 hours but I really hate the loopiness which is why I waited 8 today. I know it’s early and I should probably still take them every 4...
I’m trying to get off of them. Went 8 hours before my last dose today. They have me on 5 oxy and 325 Tylenol. Every time I fell asleep last night, my leg would jerk and I’d wake up yelping. Hope that subsides very soon. Appreciate the input from everyone.
I was on hydrocodone last time. Percocet this time. Starting to get breakthrough pain. Only sleeping an hour at a time. Percocet works well but doesn’t last long enough. I can’t wait for this stage to be over with.
Well, as soon as I got home, I found that pain I was missing. It feels as it’s worse than last time now. Getting breakthrough pain on Percocet 5mg. Just hoping I’ll be able to sleep tonight.
