Still having discomfort in unoperated leg. Have been going for walks of about 30-40 minutes with 1 crutch. Both legs ache for rest of day afterwards. I am getting a bit tired of the slow progress. Right knee Feb 23 and right hip Aug 23. Seeing Consultant in 2 weeks for follow-up.
5 months post right THR. Doing ok. Walking without crutches, driving short distances. Try to keep moving as sitting seems to make me stiffen. One problem is discomfort in unoperated leg, mainly front of thigh. Had right TKR in February 2023, so new right leg in a way!
I havnt posted for a while so not sure I am right place.
I had right TKR in February, then right THR in August. Doing ok but get discomfort in my other leg. Front of thigh and hip areas.
I am not using a crutch in the house, only outside, and have been able to drive short journeys. Going up...
Hi. I was on my feet a bit, clothes washing and hanging the outside on clothes line. In and out of car as passenger to goo feed cat at daughters house, 10 minutes away. So quite a bit looking at it now!
Well I am 2 weeks post op. Had stitches removed Thursday. Not doing too bad. Trying to walk about in house and outside a bit. Having a kind of shower with a board on the bath for me to sit on.
This feels as though recovery will be easier than the TKR in February.
I had right THR Thursday. Home today. It seems to hurt more than the hospital but I was trying to sit and it was awkward. Any tips for recovery will be appreciated. Had right TKR in February.
Not sure where to start this thread.
Thanks! I hadn't thought about MRI with knee implant! I have stiffness in the right hip and back. Have been doing pre-surgery Hip exercises with Versus Arthritis. They concentrate on quads and glutes. Will let you know how I get on.
Had right TKR in February. Was told by surgeon I would need right THR within the year. In last weeks I have had discomfort in hip area. Exercising, taking some pain meds, but mobility limited and of course knee not 100% yet. Speaking to a surgeon 5 July.
Any advice appreciated.
16 weeks post right TKR. Still bit of a struggle. Ice in mornings as most stiff then. Elevate. Walked 20 minutes and felt it next day but had to do that much. I believed I would be fine by now, so feeling down with it. Have arthritis in right hip but wasn't painful before, although wwas told...
Hi. How do you adjust your gait to walk straight!. I had a wonky leg before the knee surgery. Now it is straight, but I think my body possibly thinks it is still wonky. It went out an an angle below the knee.
I am 7 weeks post right knee replacement. Thought I was progressing slowly. Saw the surgeon yesterday for 6 week follow-up. I was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable in groin and lower back. I knew I had arthritis in right hip. He said you will need a new hip after next 12 months. I feel...
I had right TKR 6 weeks ago. Progressing slowly. I have arthritis in right hip and surgeon did knee first as that was most painful. No pain in hip. Now the hip is aching a bit and I don’t know whether it is my walking gait with crutches, or whether it is arthritis. I see the surgeon at the end...
