Hello @Josephine, trust you are enjoying a great day. Wanted to give you an update on my "mid thigh" pains, had my appointment this morning with my OS, I explained what happened with the PT treatment and subsequent pain. He immediately ordered several X-rays and luckily they all seemed normal...
@Jaycey thank you for your message, yes I am now listening to my body. The PT was incredibly pushy and since my problem/pain started with her, I have let her go as she should have known better with me being 2 days weight bearing. Anyway I am following Josephine's advise as that is already...
@DeepBreath thank you for your kind words, its appreciated. Yes I am now listening 100% to my body and doing what it tells me to do. Actually since I started to increase the icing time alone last night and today, it already made a difference.
Have a great day!
Hello @Josephine, thank you for your reply and words of wisdom. I have started and implemented the changes you advised immediately. Also you mentioned a couple of points, let me clarify please:
My pain levels are truly a 5 to 6 at best and when trying to sleep its in the 10 area, (am hoping...
@Nana757 yes pretty unreal I thought and I actually did tell her, well "you do it and show me" that would have been without surgery, some people are in the wrong profession I think but it has all stopped now as I actually cancelled her completely, she was around 70 I guess and had been a PT for...
Hi @Nana757, Josephine contacted me and I just replied and hope I gave her enough info. Thank you again for having tagged her for me...:). As for the exercises the PT made me do, see list below, I am not doing them anymore until the pain has subsided of course but even my hubby says that all...
Hi @Cynthia777, thank you for your kind words, its appreciated. Am truly hoping Josephine will be able to give me some good advise as she is a wealth of great knowledge, in the meantime I just plug away and hope for the best...
Again many thanks...:)
@Josephine I should have mentioned that the exercises done with the PT were done in standing position, she had me hold on to my dresser or the kitchen counter for balance.
Hello @Josephine, thank you for your reply, I will try and give you the information you require and hope with your fast knowledge you are able to shed some light on my problem.....thank you in advance.
1. My surgery date was November 5th, 2015, my hip replacement procedure was performed as...
Hi @Nana757, thank you so much for your reply, its appreciated. Its strange but this all started approx. 2 days after the surgeon said "you are now able to put weight" on your leg, my PT came in and had me do some wickedly painful exercises. I told her that I was only 2 days weight bearing but...
Hi everyone, have a question and hope to get some needed advise. My journey has had some bumps so far but all seemed fine until a week ago, I decided to do some stuff and used the stairs several times, it felt pretty good but after 3 times I started to feel a bit of discomfort, so I stopped...
Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing great. I had my 5.1/2 week check-up yesterday and while I was pretty nervous about the Xrays (as I am still having a lot of pain), I can now start putting weight on my leg so am no longer "non weight bearing", that's a huge relief. A couple more days using...
@DeepBreath thank you for your reply, pain started somewhere in the midst of not having pain meds but its nasty but understandable considering what the body has been through, yes I ice it regularly (ice packs are my best friends...lol).
Think I will sit a bit less to give it all a chance to...
Hi everyone, well I am now 14 days post-op and things are starting to look up, had my staples taken out and all looked great.
I requested a refill of my pain meds (Tylenol 3) but my OS was not available so I had to call my GP, well it took almost 3 days to get a refill so I was in some serious...
@sandiegomom thank you for your words of wisdom as they are appreciated. Yes for sure I count my blessings that I was not my 93 year old roommate as she was having a real tough time, had dementia (mostly at night), diabetes and other issues. My hubby and I tried to re-assure on a frequent...
