TKR Lessons learned 2nd TKR with PCL repair

This time around I'm doing everything I can to eliminate swelling. Three weeks post op and still spending most of the day with leg elevated and ice machine on. Seems like my ROM is better this time. -1/97. I think this is good for three weeks out. Monday start outpatient PT. Walking with...

TKR Lessons learned 2nd TKR with PCL repair

Three weeks post op from my second TKR. Had LTKR last March 2015. Then had RTKR done February 4, 2016, along with an unexpected posterior crucate ligament (PCL) repair done along with the RTKR. My OS says that this recovery will be a little slower and longer. Does anyone else have experience...

2016 February Valentines - Are you have knee surgery in February?

Can you add me to the February list please? I will be having RTKR on 2/4/16. Excited because my surgery date was moved up from March to February. Had my left knee done last March, and love my new knee. Can't wait to have two new knees. Finding it easier this time around, not so worried or...

2016 March Musketeers - Are you having knee surgery in March?

Just got a call and my surgery date for RTKR has been moved to Feb. 4, 2016. Yeah it's hard to get a sooner surgery date with my OS. I will need to be removed from the March list and add myself to the February list. Thanks.

2016 March Musketeers - Are you having knee surgery in March?

Scheduled for second TKR, right knee this time, on March 21, 2016. Not nearly as anxious this time around. Knowing what to expect, and knowing what I can do better this time helps.

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

Just finished PT and so excited I had to post. Flex 121 and extension is FINALLY 0. Happy Dance. Now if I could just get rid of this sciatica pain in my butt and down the leg. Saw a chiropractor three days ago and it really helped for a few days. But last night the statica returned with a...

    MUA RTKR Done!

@Spencieca thanks for all your posts. You have been a valuable resource for me in my healing. I look forward to reading your posts. Hang in there. Some days are easier than others. I loved your post about cycling around for the first time. I can so relate, I screamed out loud the first...

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

Thanks Gigi and Angel both gave me some excellent tips. I will definitely try the Tylenol idea. I'd really like to stay off the Norco from here on out, or at least until the next TKR. Will be doing my right knee this year once I've recovered from this left one and after my daughters wedding...

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

Haven't posted in a while. I thought everything was going well until a few days age. I started having really painful arthralgias. Pain in every joint of my body. Not sure what was causing it? Thinking and reading that it might be the Norco that I've been taking every day since surgery, I...

    TKR One Month on

I will be four weeks tomorrow from my LTKR. So we're about the same time along. I have to say that things have really loosened up this week. May be part of the normal healing, or may be due to my OS adding 600mg ibuprofen twice a day. I am taking norco 5 every 4-6 hours for pain. My flex...

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

Had a visit with my home PT. My extension is stuck at 2, my flexion is now 90. Yeah. My PT took out my 52 staples, very little discomfort. Resting most of the days with my surgical leg elevated and running my Breg Kodiak ice machine almost 24/7. Not sure what I would do without the ice...

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

@pumpkin thanks for the encouragement. I was getting worried that I wouldn't sit in a chair again. Do you know who I should tell, I can't change the name of my thread. I don't have the tabs except for the watch thread tab. Thanks for your help.

TKR Sandydee's New Knee Highs and Lows

I haven't posted in a while. But have been lurking around reading about everyone else's progress. I am 12 days post op and for the most part my recovery seems much like everyone else. My PT is still making home visits twice per week. My extension is 2 and my flexion is 88. Does that seem...

    Why don't they measure swelling?

Welcome. I had a left TKR only three days after you. Our stories are very similar. I am struggling right now with how much is too much? My PT suggested ankle pumps, quad sets, glut sets, straight leg raises, short arche, hamstring stretches, hip abduction, heel slides, sitting in a chair...
