    THR My New Hip

So today started out not so great but quickly got better. I was sore and stiff this morning and not moving around well. I had my first meeting with the home nurse and physical therapist today and things got much better. They answered all my concerns, checked my incision, reassured me about...

    THR My New Hip

I'm doing great today, I'm going to go home later on. No pain, just a little muscle type pain. My leg is weak so I will need to work on strengthening it. Also my length discrepancy is resolved. I feel good.

    THR My New Hip

I had a spinal. They gave me something that completely knocked me out. I have no recollection of anything from the procedure other than being wheeled into the OR and then being woke up. It was like a split second thing. Eyes close, eyes open. Strange feeling but easy.

This is exactly what my surgeon said. There's just a lot of structural damage to the pelvis and the hip is deformed to the degree that he would feel more comfortable with the posterior approach. Initially we discussed anterior, but after closer evaluation he stated that the posterior approach...

I had my preop appointment with my surgeon. It looks like I will be having the posterior approach now due to the amount of deformity in my hip. He's a little more comfortable using that approach.

I'm scheduled for Right total hip replacement on Dec 10th. I can't wait to be rid of this burden that I've had for years, getting my new hip and most importantly, getting on with a healthy and improved quality of life.
